Our hotel offers free continental breakfast the next day but we will be on a plane to Antigua! So our guests will have to enjoy it without us!

Re: Day After Brunch, Who is doing one with poll!!!
We thought about it ... but I was getting stressed even thinking about it, so I said, NOPE. If FILs want to host one, then that's great, and we would go at least for part ... but I kinda just want to relax that day!ETA: Our guests get a free breakfast at the hotel, anyhow. It's not the same as the one I am staying at, which I like. We get a better breakfast, too!

i would never ever ever do it. i have to tell you the day after my wedding i was EXHAUSTEDwhen we went to dinner at MIL's house that night, even after taking a nap - they basically kicked me out and told me to go to bed bc i couldnt even carry on a converstion. DH felt the same way!
ETA: it was so nice to be with only DH in the morning, eat breakfast and be alone. . . it was so overwhelming seeing hte family that night!

we are doing a day after brunch but a lot of people probably won't come since it will be on a monday. We figured it's a nice gesture since we're not having a RD

We are having a next day BBQ since its July 4th at a family members house. I am too thinking of putting a little note in with the invite to the certain ppl invited (Fam & OOT). Just dont know what to write.
Maybe you can setup a few days before? Or maybe have it at 1pm (How far is hotel from your place?)
That sounds like a great idea
Our hotel is 11 miles from the house
checkout is 12, unless people see if they can extend their checkout
Thats what we are doing. Bringing over to that house a few days before. (Tables/chairs/decorations, etc).
What about extending checkout? Talk to your hotel, even make it 1230 checkout and make the party at 1.

Thank you, i know its going to be rough, and we are both going to be so tired, im hoping that we can get some sleep, while the brunch is being set up downstairs.
This is my FH's idea, so i told him i am not doing a thing, i want to wake up and walk downstairs to eat and be served and hang out with everyone!
But your advice is making me really scared

Re: Day After Brunch, Who is doing one with poll!!!
My parents are having a BBQ lunch at their house the day after for OOT guests and immediate family. I think afterwards we're going to try to go to a Ducks game. I hope that they are playing at home that night.

i'm sorry - don't be scared. everyone is different!!
my wedding also ended at 2:30AM so maybe that had something to do with it - after spending the entire day running around
if you know you are the type of person to wake up and look forward to seeing everyone - that will be an awesome experience.
i personally, didnt want to see anyone LOL it sounds mean but it was so true. if i could do it over again i wouldnt have even gone to the dinner and i would have waited a few more days before leaving for the HM!
as long as you are not involved in the planning/set up - i think you should be fine!

Re: Day After Brunch, Who is doing one with poll!!!
I wish I could do one but we have 70-100 OOT guests and cannot afford to put on another big production! If I were you, I would do it at the hotel though and include a note with the invitation or send an email??? I just think it will be too much work to do it at your house...the last thing you want to is to be running around trying to organize and set up!
