I fell in love with the first one I tried on. I knew it was perfect and looked beautiful. I know its different for everyone. Some people try on a lot until they find the right one and some know it right away.

I fell in love with 3 or 4 dresses. I had so many 'this is the one' moments.

I didn't fall in love with my dress...nor did I cry...


I was actually pretty uncomfortable with the idea of wearing a big white dress...


It didn't matter too much until at the wedding my old neighbor told me that the dress was so me and so classic...it was music to my ears...

I'm kind of dissapointed that I didn't have 'the one' moment that I had been imagining for so long. I'm having second thoughts about it. Don't get me wrong.... I do like it a whole log, but I think I should've kept looking so I could be sure that it was really the one for me. I was torn between two, and my mom and the sales woman both thought that I should get the one I ended up ordering. The one I didn't get was probably more 'me' but the one that I ordered is more 'Cinderella-like'. I thought about continuing my seach and buying a second one if I like another better, but I think my mom would kill me!!

yeah, thats true. I'm doing the same with everything (except FH!!), so why should my gown be any different?

Don't worry if you don't cry and declare 'this is the one!' right away.
The first time I went shopping, I tried on my dress and absolutely loved it. I also loved a few others. But then, every time I went shopping, I kept trying it on. finally, I admitted that it was 'the one' and ordered it.

I didnt cry or anything major like that!

I loved the dress and kept looking and looking at it on! And I realized it was the one becuase I didnt want to take it off! I walked around the store for over a half hour with it on! (luckly it was a tuesday morning so there was no one else in the store!)

You will just have a feeling in your gut, your heart and your head! And you will be 100X more excited about getting married than you were just 10 minutes previously! Just go with that!

My married friend who sopped for motnhs for her dress told me , 'the heavens didn't part ' for her, so she told me not to worry if I ddint' feel that way. I didn't.
I can't imagine crying overy any type of clothing unless a dog decided to make it its new chew toy or soemthing.

It the 5th store I went to, I was down to 3,a nd I though I liekd themn easily, till I tried them all on again. This was the only dress that I said didn't say, 'I like it except. . .'

I then I just kept it on a while, and tried on a veil, and then I decided, this was it.
I was afraid i would change my mind, but then at dinner, I kept picturing it in my head, and was so excited to go online that night to get a picture.

Also, dresses are not husbands. There may be another dress out there that I would also love, but I do like this one alot, and felt I saw enough dresses to not be missing out on anything.

ps- Oakslady, I love your dress- go you for being different!
