Disney Honeymoon

My fiance and I are planning a Disney Cruise and Park honeymoon. Anyone have any tips? I want it to be affordable, while at the same time get the royal treatment.

Thanks, Jenn

Thats great, I remember when I was looking for one for my wedding and the best I could come up with with hand outs was $900.00! I think some of the prices vendors are charging are getting a little too steep.

Disney Honeymoon

Hey, Jennifer!

It's a shame the chat we had last fall isn't posted anymore...it was about Disney cruises. The thing I remember someone writing was that the cruise ship for the honeymoon vacation is the same ship for the family. That means your romantic get-away described in the pamphlet is the same family-activity planned journey for everyone else in a different pamplet...two different advertisements for the same thing! So, keep that in mind...and better yet, check with Disney. I don't know how true it is...it was just something someone posted before.

Personally, we're not doing the cruise...it was never of interest. However, we are going to stay at Disney. And, I am looking sooooooo forward to it!!!

Disney Honeymoon

From what I heard, they have activities for the children planned from the time they open their eyes until the time they shut them. My parents actually said that you see and hear more children at the park than on the boat.

I just loved the idea of going to the Carribbean and not having to stay for more than a day. This way you can get an idea of which islands you like best, and go back at a later time. Also, I haven't been to the park in a while, so that was also a dream of mine.

My problem is in planning it 1 1/2 years from the date. No one is willing (or able) to help at this time because it is too soon. I just want a guideline on what the prices might be and what I might be getting for comparison reasons. Anyone have a good travel agency that would be willing to do this? (We also want to try to save as much towards the trip as we can now.)

Disney Honeymoon

Hi. We're doing the Disney Cruise in June. I've heard wonderful things about it from people who did it in October. They told me you hardly ever see the kids, although going on a Disney cruise, you have to expect to see kids here and there. We're paying quite a bit for the vacation. About $6,000 and that does not include meals while at Disney world. Although we did choose to pay more to have a verandah. But, from all we have been told, we definitly felt that it was worth it. One word of caution. Even though they don't allow you to book super early, be sure you book as soon at 2001 or whenever your getting married rates come out. They only block a few rooms at each resort for people doing the cruise. We are not going to be able to stay in the resort we wanted to stay in while on land. Hope this helps. Kristen

How long ago did you start checking into prices? Are you getting any honeymoon "specials"? What travel agency did you go through, and did you shop around?

Disney Honeymoon

We started checking into prices last summer. We didn't get any honeymoon packages because they seemed to be a bit too expensive for what they are offering. We didn't shop around because I found the prices on the Disney web page and also called the Disney travel agents to get a price quote before using the travel agency - Carlson Wagonlit. I don't think they can give you a better deal than is listed on the website, unless they "eat" some of the costs themselves.

WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY. WE ARE CAT 11 AND MODERATE HOTELS(CHOICES ARE CARRIBEAN BEACH, PORT ORLEANS OR DIXIE LANDING) FOR THE LAND STAY. THAT PACKAGE PRICE WITH AIR FARE AND TRANSPORTATION ONCE YOUR THERE INSIDE DISNEY FROM mCaRTHUR WAS $2400.00. DOESN[T INCLUDE FOOD ON LAND. ITS' NOT A HONEYMOON PACKAGE. YOU SHOULD GET A BROCHURE AND SEE WHAT CAT 11 IS. WITH OUT TRANSPORTATION AND AIR FARE IT IS $1800.00. I DON'T CARE IF THERE ARE KIDS. pEOPLE SAY IT'S NOT SO ROMANTIC. YOU KNOW WHAT THEY MAY BE RIGHT. BUT IT COMES DOWN TO WHAT THE TWO OF YOU MAKE OF IT. I LOVE MICKEY. I'M SO EXCITED. ALMOST AS EXCITED FOR THE WEDDING. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

Re: rights. Your legal rights are what is referenced in the agreement.

I'm not an atty but I'd wonder if the old contract is valid at all. Unless there is a right to assign, your contract is with the former ownership entity &, since they are no longer in business, the contract may no longer be valid.
