I love daytime weddings. If you have party people they will party whether it's day or night. If you don't have a dancing crowd they are not going to dance either way.

I know girls.. thanks.. Im just thinking of sticking with the JT but having our reception in a room without skylights...
I'm in the Skylight Room at JT during the day. My reception starts super-early (12:45) and I agonized over this question for the longest time, and then I decided to stop fretting over it.
I think how much people party has a lot to do with the bride and groom. If the B&G are happy, and into celebrating their love and getting out there on the dance floor, people will naturally gravitate to the dance floor and get into the celebration. Also, if the DJ or band is outta sight, then a party is a party is a party. A lot of people like the fact that they can go home and relax afterward, or go out partying again afterward because it's still early evening.

We had a daytime wedding in a room with no windows and people partied like nobody's business! But the crowd we had likes to have a lot of fun....
I think it all depends on the atmosphere of the location, and the mood, and the music, of course.
We also reserved a room at a local hotel afterwards, so a good amount of people went back there and the drinking continued....until midnight at least.

i had the same worries. i'm having a sunday, day wedding and in a room that is completely open on top. BUT i know that my choice in dj and music, and my crazy bp will help set the tone and everyone will follow suit. (i.e. we are introducing our bp with the song 'let's get loud')

I think you can make it work either way, but if you have a choice, I think it works better if it's no windows and people can't tell what time it is.

i debated this back and forth when we were deciding and figured even if they don't party as much at the wedding, our close friends will party with us after at the hotel..i'm sure people will party if you're out there getting them to party and i wanted a daytime wedding because the room is all windows and i think its beautiful..go with your gut though..in the end you need to be happy

You know, one of the best weddings I went to was a day wedding and the thing that made it.....was the music and the company. I definitely don't think you should have a problem at all, just makes for a longer after party

Re: Do you think people with party as hard if its Saturday daytime and not night?
Um, can you define the term 'party?' I rarely drink, but I'm a dancing fiend, typically. People can drink anytime, anyplace, anywhere, but I do prefer dancing when its a tad darker in the room (I never said I was GOOD!
) So, from my standpoint, if your wedding were daytime, but in a darker room, I'd be out there dancing more frequently than a sun washed room. The music is a BIG factor too!

Not sure. I am ony of those people that just cant get 'into' a daytime wedding reception. But that is just me.
yeah I agree...
But I guess darker would be better
