Does the bride give a thank you speech at a shower?

Mine's today and I don't know if I'm supposed to?

that's what I'm wondering. I get nervous talking in front of people, even if I know them (and even though I was a broadcaster for almost 10 years! lol... but talking in front of a group is MUCH different!)

I didnt give a speech. I just said a general thank you after we were done opening up gifts.

I gave a 2 second thank you after all gifts were opened...thanks for coming all this way..thanks to my fmil and a special thanks to my mom!

same here. after i had opened everything i just said 'thank you everybody!'. then obviously when everyone was leavi\ng i said 'thanks for coming'.

I did the same thing, and also walked around the party and said thanks to groups of people sitting together.

id think after u do all the gifts you just say thank you for for all being here and for all the wonderful gifts...blah blah.....and how u cant wait too see them at the wedding!!

something short and sweet..

if your BP or family did anything extra id mention that since they put alot of time and $$ into this day.

I just thanked everyone for coming and sharing in the day with me. I also thanked everyone for being so supportive of FH and I throughout our lives and our relationship.
