OMG I was sooo nervous going dress shopping. More for the fact that I thought the people in the dress shop would treat me rudely because I'm a plus-sized bride...but also because I was afraid I wouldn't find anything. Turned out ok though, everyone was friendly and I eventually found my dress!

It depends on the staff at the shop - the first shop I went to, the woman was so snotty, I didn't want anything to do with her. It made me nervous for my next experience, but the lady was so sweet, she made me feel at ease immediately!
I had the same kind of experience!!!!!!!!!!!
HATED the first dress shop, found my dress at the second ... all it takes sometimes is a kind, helpful, patient, non-judgemental bridal consultant.
ETA:
this is a REALLY old post! Oh well ....
