Re: Dune deck hotel in westhampton beach?

I have stayed there before and had a few of my wedding guests stay there the night of our wedding. The good things are that its right on the ocean and has a pool and is super convenient to Atlantica. The cons are that the rooms are a little run down and they won't 'block' rooms for you unless you pay in full upfront and then they refund your cc everytime someone books. I also found them extremely difficult to track down during the winter. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Re: Dune deck hotel in westhampton beach?

Thanks for the reply. I'm also getting married at Atlantica and was thinking of having some of my guests stay there and even maybe myself (because it is so convenient and less expensive than the bath and tennis. Do you know if they have any nice suites?
And, I am very frustrated because I can't get in touch with them. I've already called twice and emailed them. In your experience, did they eventually call you back?
Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Re: Dune deck hotel in westhampton beach?

You probably won't be able to get through to them until April. That was the most frustrating part b/c I was paranoid we wouldn't be able to get any rooms. They are almost as expensive at B&T though, as the tennis court rooms at B&T are only $115 and the cheapest rooms at Dune Deck are $165. If I were you I would rent a house on Dune Road for you and your family and that way you have plenty of room and you will probably save money in the long run. It worked out better for us and it was great to have a home base. My DH actually stayed at the B&T in one of the sutes near the pool and it was fine but nothing great.

Sorry I don't have better advice but I searched high and low and found most of my guests stayed at Atlantica despite the price for the sheer convenience and that for me the house was the best for us.

Re: Dune deck hotel in westhampton beach?

Hey - Kgis - I guess you are getting married at the Atlantica during the day - I have a 7 pm reception on June 26! Small world....During June the rates are so much higher than September - Jennyg you were lucky! I think B&T starts at $270 for us and dune deck wasn't much less (if at all less) than $185 for a studio. We went with the best western in riverhead and the inn at quogue. both have been very accomodating. obviously not as close as the others but semi-reasonable prices. We are going to use mini-buses to get guests back and forth from atlantica. FM if you have any add'l questions. Are you getting married at Immaculate Conception by any chance? I've heard of people sharing church flowers to cut costs....I wonder if there was anything else we could split to cut costs -although off the top of my head I can't think of anything else....
Have a great wedding day!

Re: Dune deck hotel in westhampton beach?

Thanks everyone for your replies. I heard that rooms at the dune deck were just redone and I think we might just stay there because it is so convenient for us. Blissbride mentioned that the rooms are better than the bath and tennis on another website.
Matts bride--that is so funny that you are getting married at atlantica the same day! I am getting married at st.john's in center moriches not at the immaculate conception (unfortunately since it would have been nice to share the costs). Actually I've also blocked rooms at the best western in riverhead! Unfortuantely. the suite was taken (probably by you!) but, even if the rooms are a little shabby, we figured we'd like to stay on the beach. We would rather not rent a house since we have everyone coming from out of town and wanting to stay where we are staying.
Anyway, I think that this has been the biggest stress of my wedding planning! I can't wait to book a rooms for myself and the wedding party. Hopefully i'm not making a mistake with the dune deck!
Good luck with the rest of your wedding planning!
