Re: Ex-boyfriends and weddings

Posted by HurricaneGirl

I'm having like, 4 at my wedding, but only the ones that I'm actually friends with, not the ones that are gonna try to stop the wedding.

But he can't invite his ex. Maybe I wouldn't mind so much if she didn't post stuff like 'how about a little game of yes doctor?' on his myspace. B*itch.

yeah f*ck that.

Re: Ex-boyfriends and weddings

I'm not inviting any of my exes. I feel bad because I'm actually still close with one of them but FH doesn't feel right about it. If your FH doesn't mind and you don't mind, then I say go for it. But if it doesn't feel right, then explain to him there are too many people already and you're sorry. I actually explained the situation to my ex on why he can't be invited and he told me he understood and respects it.

Re: Ex-boyfriends and weddings

So after laughing abou tthis topic and my reply before...bc one of the exes is my FBIL so I dont really have a choice in that matter. But the FH brought it to my attention that he did invite two of his exes. I've met one but i didnt know he actually dated her. Kick to my face.....So after much protest and fighting and threatening to call it off...He mentioned how he has to invite his brother so if i can have an ex im friends with there...he can have one....jerk.....Im making damn sure that the objections line is being removed.

Re: Ex-boyfriends and weddings

I wouldn't call him an ex- but definitely a guy I used to hook up with (in highschool 8 years ago). The only reason is because he is friends with FH -- thats actually how I met FH.

We were invited to his and it wasn't weird. I always forget we used to hook up anyways

Re: Ex-boyfriends and weddings

An ex is an ex for a reason. I don't see why someone getting married would still be in contact with men from their past. So my answer is, No, I did not invite any exes to our wedding - and neither did my husband.

Re: Ex-boyfriends and weddings

it really depends, I have an ex that I dated back in middle school AND high school and 'hung out with' right before I met FH.. he's like my BFF and he's pretty good friends with FH (he wanted to put him in the BP, but I said no). like situations like that, I mean, he's a FRIEND of both of ours...
but like other ex's that FH never met, or met once or twice and didn't get a good feel for... then no.

Re: Ex-boyfriends and weddings

Defentially no. But then again FH my first serious BF. Even if I did have other serious BF's I would no way be inviting them.

there are different situations where 'ex is an ex' doesnt apply. life isnt that black and white. we could only wish it was, would be so much simpler and nicer.

we already invited FH's ex. they have a daughter together, and IMO it made sense to invite her. I am actually looking fwd to meeting her and their daughter.
not weird for me at all.

Re: Ex-boyfriends and weddings

I'm inviting 1 ex and one guy I had previously hooked up with. They're my friends. They're FH's friends.

I don't see the problem with it.

Re: Ex-boyfriends and weddings

I'm inviting one ex. We were good friends before we dated, and have since been friends since we decided to call it quits. Honestly, I feel like it would be more awkward to not invite him then to.

OH NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I would never do that. What if the pastor/officiant asks 'If anyone has any just cause why these two should not get married and they say some crap to stop them' By right pastors and priests have to stop and in some cases depending on what they say they cannot continue the wedding.

LOL don't worry about this. My pastor said they don't even say this anymore. At least they're not at my wedding haha.

I guess it depends on the pastor. I know n\mine does.

Re: Ex-boyfriends and weddings

no we're not. I was friends w/ 1 of mine until not that long ago, but the friendship just phased out like some do. So nope, not being invited anymore
