it's not the time of day, day of week, or anything else that makes a wedding-- people are what make it. If they want to party and have a blast, they will do so at any time![]()
This is so true!

Re: feeling blue about my afternoon wedding
Our wedding is ending at 8pm and we'll probably go back to the hotel bar and have an afterparty if people are interested...if not then we just get to start our new life together a little earlier

I am having a morning wedding- on a saturday.. and honestly I did think about these things...but im tyong to think of the positive. Here they are :)My top ten
10- more people likely to go since its not at night...
9- I was able to book my honeymoon to leave the next day..early
8-Great outside shots :)
7- Less hot for my guests outside during ceremony & coctail hour
6- Less traffic
5- better deal on reception site...lol
4- did not worry bout booking my vendors since most people have sat night weddings & less of a chance of not getting them
3- the breakfast buffett for my guests ( next day) (incentive to stay overnight)
2- AFTER Party!!! whoo hoo!!!!
and drum roll please- the number one reason for a morning wedding
1- LESS OF A CHANCE THAT MY FIANCE WILL BE HAMMERED!!!!![]()

ITA
You can have a gr8 after party or everyone can meet up & hang out at a bar/lounge
Thanks for the top ten! I thought of this as well as our wedding starts from 11.30 till 5, night weddings are just way too expensive...

I'm having an afternoon wedding as well. Don't feel blue its going to be the best day ever!
same here. People will have a good time no matter what time the wedding is. I am dancing the whole time at weddings...day or night. As far as afterwards, we may do an afterparty!!

jilliebean,
you're a fox hollow bride. i think we're the same company. when do you get married?
don't you think the traffic will be horrible going back to manhattan at 6:00 pm on a friday?
Usually the traffic is bad east-bound because of the holiday weekend, so I doubt going into Manhattan will be that awful. And yes, our RHs are the same company - my wedding is 3/26/11

Re: feeling blue about my afternoon wedding
I am having a noon ceremony/afternoon wedding for the fact that FH and I are both morning people. Almost EVERYONE has said 'yes' to our RSVPs (that was unexpected!) because they can drive out to LI and drive home without it being too late at night. Having an afternoon reception is one of the best decisions we've made, and I hope you start to see the bright side of having an earlier reception too! People will love it :).

Re: feeling blue about my afternoon wedding
its not about the time of day , people will dance and have a good time no matter what. FH and I opted to have a saturday day wedding.... it amazed us just by adjusting the time of day how much we are saving per person at our RH!

Re: feeling blue about my afternoon wedding
dont worry...your wedding will be great! my sister had a day wedding and everyone danced and drank just like it was a night wedding. After the wedding we all hung out at the hotel bar for awhile and then some of us went out to a local bar in our gowns etc. we had a blast!

Re: feeling blue about my afternoon wedding
I think your day will turn out beautiful! No more stressing, start looking fwd to your fabulous day! Your wedding will be beautiful whether it's in the morning, afternoon or evening!! The day is about you and your FH!!! It's going to be fine, plus it's a Friday, you guys can party all night if you wanted to at a hotel or something!!! Maybe even a bar/lounge in the local neighborhood!!

Re: feeling blue about my afternoon wedding
Don't worry at all! Since it's a holiday, no one will have to work or anything, plus if there's alcohol, people will dance & enjoy themselves!!I've heard of people doing a bowling afterparty, or just have like food & stuff at the hotel afterwards.
ITA with the traffic situation as well...it's all going east, so if it's early on Friday, none of your guests will be stuck in it!!
