Re: FH's best friend's fiance is wearing the same bridal gown as me and their wedding is before ours
This is so upsetting but your hair, head piece & veil will be different. You are going to look so beautiful and your FH is not only going to see your gown. He is going to be seeing his beautiful new wife filled with love and happiness.
If it's of any comfort, I doubt my DH could describe or pick out my dress on someone else - and we have a big picture on our wall

I think people remember that you looked beautiful.....not necessarily the detail on your dress. It 's not just the dress - it's the veil, headpiece, flowers, hair and makeup that make the statement. I am sure that you will both look fabulous in your own way. It's a cliche but you will wear the dress - the dress won't wear you!!!It is interesting that two good friends picked women with such similar taste...

I cant believe it! I would also be upset but both of you will look different and unique even though the dress is the same. Was this by coincidence????

Every dress looks different on everyone. Don't worry about it.
I must agree with this. Two people can wear the same clothes and they will look different on each person. Each person has an unique style and the way they project themselves is different. Also, how far apart are the weddings? I'm quite sure your wedding and your dress will be remembered by YOU, the one that you are wearing and not by your FH's friend fiancee. And the accessories that you use are not the same as hers, so right there you both would give the dress a different look.
Don't worry, you would still look beautiful in your dress.

thanks girls for your support. i wouldnt exchnage the dress b/c i know its the dress and its already ordered hollow to hem for me. when people say, it will look differently on her the only thing i can think if is that she is taller and skinner then me and the dress will probably look better on her. the weddings are two months apart, and yes FH knows. i freaked out and then i thought- o know he'll see my dress![]()
I don't think, you should have told..anyone...because now they will look at the dress even harder. But, don't worry, yours will look different.
I went to a wedding in May..and was absolutely scared, that we would have picked, the same gown. Thank GOD it did not happen. Good luck

I'm sorry this is happening! Are you SURE it's the same dress?
I'm sorry but I would buy another dress or have mine altered so that it looks different!

Could you post the dress so we can see what it looks like? I would be very upset as well - let's see if we can figure out a way to make it unique. Did you ask her about her veil, headpiece etc.?

Re: FH's best friend's fiance is wearing the same bridal gown as me and their wedding is before ours
Actually you are lucky you found out about it now, instead of at her wedding. Secondly you have the advantage!! You will get to see what accessories she will be using. I think there are a few things you can do to make it different:Biggest: Hair style. Most brides where the hair in an up do...Would you consider a half up/down style? Secondly the tiara and veil.
Most brides were the diffent tier veils, would you consider an one piece chapel length veil?
They are very dramatic looking....Of course this all depends on the style of your dress... How about very sheer elbow gloves. You take them off durring the ceremony. How about spagetti straps? Adding or removing them from the dress? It's the very first look of you walking down the aisle people will remenber. So the more different details you can add or change, the less people wiill notice the similarity in dresses. Once the veil, gloves and flowers are removed, people will not notice. Hope this helps
