Flower Recommendation

Hi Folks:

I ordered my flowers last night at the Flower Cart in Nesconset. I have to say, this is my favorite vendor. Steve, the owner, at with me for over an hour and was so helpful. I am ordering Blue Hydrangea for a May wedding, which this flower is not in season. He is able to get them for me with no problem. (They ship them in from Holland). I know there were several brides on here that were looking or inquiring about this flower. I ordered 3 bridesmaids, 1 bridal boquet which will be similar to the girls but with open ivory roses mixed in, 12 boutineers, 4 wrist arrangements, 2 fireside baskets for the altar, 2 ginger jar arrangements for the top of the altar, lavendar petals for my flower girl and the price was unbelievable. $700.00 for everything. I highly recommend inquiring to them. I have ordered regular arrangements from them before and they always come in beautiful and sooo fresh.

I did my envelopes on the printer, both innner and outer. I think they came out great and it was soo easy! If you have a large selection of fonts you probably have a caligraphy type, or something that will match the invitation font. It was pretty easy to do by setting up a mailmerge in word. Good Luck!

Flower Recommendation

Another wonderful florist in Nesconset is Summers Flowers. They did such a creative bouquet for my bridesmaids and all the flowers were beautiful. They decorate cakes and churches, also. If you are looking for something special and out of the ordinary, definately check them out!

Hello all ! I'll be getting married this August in Hampton Bays, on the south fork (where my fiance is from)... problem is, I live in Nassau. Anyone know of any good resources out east? Need a hairstylest, makeup person, limos, bakery (for cake), photog, etc. I don't know anyone else out there!

Flower Recommendation

Hi Becky: I just went to Sommers last Wednesday and inquired about my wedding flowers. 2 girls run the place. The one girl said, "the girl who does wedding consultation is at the dentist". At that time I made an appointment for this past Saturday at 11am. At about 10:50am on Saturday, I received a call from this girl stating she had "STUFF" to do and would call me later in the day to reschedule. It is now Wednesday, 4 days later and I have never received a call from them. This left a very bad taste in my mouth. I have seen the flowers they do and they ARE BEAUTIFUL, but I believe that since they could not help me 2x, and are too busy with personal things to do, that they wouldn't be there for my wedding. I wanted to give the little shops on their own the business, but I cannot count on that kind of response. I never even got to discuss my flowers or type of boquets with them. I was very uncomfortable using them. I'm glad you had a better experience. I went to the Flower Cart in Nesconset. The owner didn't realize he had an appointment with me, but sat down that very moment, wrote everything out and spent an hour with me pulling flowers, showing me flowers, etc. and worked the entire wedding out with me, wrote up the papers and off I went. That to me was someone on my side and interested in giving me an easy, wonderful experience in planning.

Kate I am so sorry that you had such a bad experience. I know the girls that run the store are busy but you definately deserved a call back. I agree with you and I also wanted to give smaller vendors my business as I felt I got more personal attention. I fortunately didn't have a problem with them and the flowers for my wedding were beautiful, delivered on time and were completely unique. My cake was also very beautiful and honestly I didn't even realize it until we got our proofs back! Good Luck!

Does anybody know a good jazz group for a reception? I would like a female singer, piano, sax and perhaps a bass. I would like a group that does music, both slow and jazzy, that my guests can dance to at the reception.

Thanks.
