It's the land that actually brings the value up to $1 million plus. Whoever buys that is going to knock it down in two seconds and build something new.

You are right.

I live in Marina del Rey, Ca and there are 2 bedroom 1 bathroom houses (actually shacks) like that in Venice Beach (not the best neighborhood) that cost $1 million. They are close to the beach and freeways which drives the price up. People just buy them and knock em down.
