I think he was very much in denial. When we told him I was pregnant this past Christmas (after the wedding), he put his hand on his hip and said 'SANDRA!?!?!' as if to say... 'you did THAT?' He seemed totally shocked that that could even happen!

Jimmy bride, that is really funny. I had a similar experience. I told my in-laws I was pregnant and could not look them in the eye. They were like, 'Was this planned?' and I could just see them thinking this through. I saw my fil looking at his son as if he was impressed he got me pg! Finally, I looked at them and said 'Let's get this out in the open. Yes okay, I have sex with your son. I am a bad person.' I was feeling so dirty; I feel like I am still a little girl. I then pretended to hide under the table at the restaurant we were at. My inlaws thought this was so funny, they burst out laughing and were like 'we didn't have a lot of doubt.'

When we decided to move in together, I thought I would do the right thing and tell my parents to their face in a very sincere and sensitive way. I knew my Dad was going to flip. My father actually said: 'The Lord will not bless your life if you live together before marriage!' (Meaning: have premarital sex.)

I told him I felt sorry for him in his limited views, told him nicely he was allowed to have his opinion, and FH moved in the next week - I was liberted into adulthood! I think my father actually respected me standing up to him.

They gave us an engagement party the following month, and then helped us furnish our apartment and bought us sheets for our ONE bed! Now, they act like we are married, and have found a way to accept it.

We're old and believe me my parents didn't think I was a virgin. We had a very open relationship about sex since I was little. Before I met my FH I actually told them I didn't think you needed to be married, just find a good sex partner!

I'm not sure if my parents know or not. I don't know if I'd rather they did know I was intimate with my FH or that I was still their innocent little girl??

But regardless, it's not something I'd like to discuss with my parents.

I'm pretty sure they know, but I doubt they will ever ask point blank. It really isn't a topic that comes up over Sunday dinner when i'm asking Mom to pass the gravy But being that FH and I have been together for over 8 years.. I'd say if they thought we weren't, they'd be delusional!
