Furniture
Does anyone have any good advice about buying furniture? Where have you guys gone and how far in advance before the wedding? Does anyone know about wood laminents as an alternative to pure wood (which can be very expensive)? Also, does anyone have any advice about what items are crucial on a registry, so I don't overlook anything (aside from the standard dishes and towels)? Thanks so much for any input you can give me!

Furniture & registry-long- sorry!
I am a BIG fan of the real thing- so wood it is..not laminates that can warp and peel and emit fumes. Yes it is more expensive...but it lasts longer. so it is up to you...what your preferences are. Take a look at furniture.com.
my Fi purchased our bedroom and dining room set from here- the mission furniture we both love. WE had done our research and saw beautiful set at Restoration hardware.Quarter sawn oak- so that you see the grains of the wood. Very expensive! The same stuff was on furn.com, the shipping was FREE, and No TAX ..and that month..they had selected pieces at 15% off. So we have 2 rooms of furniture- good wood- and every drawer is made of CEDAR!!! Can't beat that.
