Future Mother In Law Rant
i rarely ever complained about my FMIL while we were dating. Now that we are getting married, everytime I talk to her about wedding stuff, she acts like my tastes are too rich and extravagant. She tells me all the time how she wants to talk about wedding stuff and then when i do, she acts like everything i want is insanely overboard. She also has a problem with the hotel bar staying open till 4 am. And I quote 'you dont want your guests being black out drunk and not remembering anything do you?' Lady, if they are getting blacked out, they will at the wedding. Its our wedding!!! I want to party ALL NIGHT LONG! AAAAHHHHHHPlease tell me im not alone. I have a little more then a year and half of her being crazy and hopefully she will go back to normal after the wedding.

Re: Future Mother In Law Rant
Heyy! Finally posting on here after being engaged for a month lol. That really sucks about your future mother in law but if I learned anything from Laura's wedding it's listen to what she has to say and take it into consideration but do whatever you want! It's your day. I can't say I know how you feel though since my FMIL lives on the other side of the world LOL.

Re: Future Mother In Law Rant
At least your FMIL talks about your wedding with you, my FMIL NEVER asks or says a word about it- It's so annoying and upsets me alot.

i'm sorry that she is annoying you already. just a heads up, it will probably get worse, so either you put a stop to it now or will get out on control later on.

Re: Future Mother In Law Rant
My cousin dated her DH for like 10 years (since they were kids) and never had a problem with her MIL until they got engaged and she went a little crazy also! Not to mention her SIL got engaged a year after her and got married right before her! Me, my MIL unfortunately has passed away and my FH is an only child. I feel like I bit the bullet on having so siblings in law!

THIS!! Yes - I agree. I would either just stop talking to her about it all together or tell your FH to say something. You don't need a negative nelly for the next year!! Silly FMIL.. Boo!

Re: Future Mother In Law Rant
My FMIL drives me NUTS!!!!!She always takes little jabs at me when FH isn't around and I said something to him about it the other day. I've learned to just kill her with kindness and try to show her that it doesn't bother me. In the end FH is an only child, I will be her only daughter-in-law and I will have her only grandchildren, so she better pick her battles!!

THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are not alone in this! My FMIL annoys the crap out of me!!!!!! I feel like she only considers her family, and, in her eyes, everything FH does is the most wonderful thing ever, even if it's taking a poop! Feel free to VENT AWAY!!!!!

Re: Future Mother In Law Rant
So glad I'm not the only one. My future SILs became bigger wenches post-engagement. They managed to suck the fun out of bridesmaids dress shopping and lied to my fiance about me excluding them and making them feel unwanted at the appointment. Meanwhile, the saleslady commended me for being such a hands-off and easy going bride!!! As for the MIL, she's absolutely special. You know the type that manages to screw you over and keep a straight face the entire time? Yea, that's her. Where do I begin? For my engagement party which took place 7 months after the engagement, she refused to help me get addresses for her family members and I had to resort to contacting her family on social networking sites. At the party, she was 'surprised' to see her family there, and then expressed annoyance at the fact that most of the people in attendance were my family and friends. She made a point to count! You'd think she'd make a mental note to be more cooperative for the wedding invitations?!? HECK NO!! She made sure to give us a count of people AFTER I've already ordered my invitations and finalized my guest list. But wait, here's the kicker: She went and got a dress the same color as my bridesmaids even after I explicitly asked her not to get the same color. ANNOYING. ANNOYING. ANNOYING. I could tell you guys stories for days, but you'd think I'm making things up.

Re: Future Mother In Law Rant
wow... I am so fortunate to have awesome FILs. But I do agree with the other girls, kill her with kindness, but once she over steps you need to let her know. You need to put her in her place (in a respectful way) now, or it will totally get out of hand, especially once you have kids!

Re: Future Mother In Law Rant
Omg!! I wrote this back in November and then in December she went even further as to tell me she would drive us in her minivan to my reception and we can have an iPod play instead of a dj because everything I want is too expensive. I did not speak to her for about 2 months after this. I wasnt rude, i just stayed my distance from her. I think she got the point bc the last 2 times I saw her she was very nice to me. In April we will be going on a road trip with them in which I will be a car with her for over 20 hours. I plan on getting sedatives so I don't kill her or myself.

I am so sorry that you have to deal with this!!! its crazy how people change overnight like that!As for myself, I am lucky with my FIL! FH is the baby and the last boy the get married, so they are so used to this its easy! And they havent changed!!!!! I guess I have been with him long enough that they already got to the point of realizing I wasn't going anywhere. hmmm

oh man, i love my fmil but my ffil....::smh:: he can be so obnoxious! he's got a lot of opinions abut EVERYTHING and refuses to admit that all of our plans are our mutual ideas - somehow i must've bullied FH into all these dumb ideas, blah blah blah. UGH. Do in laws ever get better?

I'm sorry that she is being like that. My FMIL actually has been nicer to me. I think she knows that us getting married means that her son is going to be moving out and she is happy to be rid of him lol. But I think that everyone thinks that I want too much but I just ignore what they say, I'm not asking them to pay for it so I'll do whatever I want.Welcome New Vendors
