Gerbera Daisies too expensive?

Okay so I thought I had mapped out the flowers that I wanted for my wedding but now I am not so sure. I was told that gerbera daisies can be expensive ( i totally thought that daisies were a cheap flower) I've been thinking of alternatives that are in season flowers for my wedding which is in November. I have tried to find bok's of dahlias but I cannot find any. Has anyone ever seen one?? What do you guys think some other options are??

Re: Gerbera Daisies too expensive?

I am having only Gerber daisies-all hand tied bouquets for me and my BMs.We used Flower Michele and got a great deal.Gerber daisies can be a little delicate, but they should be pretty inexpensive. They must be pretty expensive-or at least they were when we initially were looking (2007)-b/c we had another well known vendor turn away our business when we were initially pricing saying'I am sorry,we can't help you' a.k.a. you are
not spending enough to make it worth my time
Good luck with the gerbers

Re: Gerbera Daisies too expensive?

Gerberas are my fav and FH has gotten them for me several times. They run anywhere from $3-4 per stem. We're having them for our wedding. In all the BoKs, as the boutineers for the GMs, lining the aisle, in about 20 CPs, and having an arch made out of them. My Mom is laying out about $10k for all of it. I offered to pick a cheaper flower (for things like the CPs and such) but she said it was fine.
ETA: our florist is also having his growers grow the flower especially for us, because I wanted certain colors which aren't readily available.

Gerber Daisies can get expensive.. what florist are you using? Flowers by Burton charges you by quantity, not flower type.... I am having a bunch of gerber daisies in my cp's for a very affordable price.

I haven't seen a florist yet, I have just been hearing that Gerberas are expensive. I thought they would be cheap or cheaper. I am only looking for my bouquet and my BM's bouquets. The centerpieces come with my package at the hall. I thought I could spend like $300 on this and be done but maybe I was wrong.

When you do look check out flowers by burton. I am getting 4 bouqets with roses and cala lilies, one mini bouqet of the same thing, the flowers for the guys and the moms ets (about 12 in total), 17 cp's (altho i have to add on 2 more) and so far everything is like $2500.. very reasonable. my centerpeices are roses and gerber daisies..
