Gift table?

Are any of you having a gift table? I was thinking about it but am worried about taking up valuable floor space (not much room to spare!)

Can gifts just be brought to the bridal suite?

We stayed there when our company Christmas party was at the Cresent in Bayville.

Gift table?

We are having a gift table - and we don't have much room to spare either. I think it just makes it easier and you don't have to worry about going back and forth to the bridal suite.

I am having trouble thinking of a creative way to decorate it though. Any ideas?

My banquet manager was Charles, who treated us as if we were old friends or family. He was very up front with us, and took at least a couple of hours with us, showing us around, explaining everything to us, then leaving us alone to discuss with each other. Then he came back to answer all of our questions, and was even nice to us when we left, without booking, kissing me and my whole family goodbye, as if he were one of us. (If you're Italian, you'll understand the kissing thing)

Gift table?

We are putting a decorated box with a cut out in the center so that the envelopes can go right in the box. This way we are not walking or standing around with our hands out. Nor do we have to walk with all the envelopes in our hands. We bought the box at a craft store. It was either Franks or Michaels. Painted it white and added lace and beads and other doo dads. It looks beautiful.

Try a place called Money Savers on Flatbush Avenue in Marine Park (between Ave P & Quentin). They have a really good selection and are very helpful.

Good luck!

Gift table?

Karen, I would skip the gift table...I did not have one, honestly, I did not even think of it. I had very few gifts...actually maybe 6 in total, the rest were all envelopes :) nothing looks worst than a bare gift table.beside that is what the Matre'd and bridal attendant are for they will take the gifts to the bridal suite for you, or place them in a area where they are safe. Mike and I were up on a platform so they placed the gifts behind there, I did not even know that we had any until we were leaving.

Good luck Jamelle

Gift table?

We are having a gift table because a lot of my fiancee's family is from New England and many of our friends are from all over. I have found from going to different out of town weddings that Long Islanders are the only ones that give cash. (personally I would rather get cash!!!)

Does anybody know a good jazz group for a reception? I would like a female singer, piano, sax and perhaps a bass. I would like a group that does music, both slow and jazzy, that my guests can dance to at the reception.

Thanks.
