I had all 4 of mine taken out. It wasn't that bad, seriously

He gave me some good pain killers and I was back 100% in 2 days. Good luck

I had my 4 wisdom teeth taken out when I was 16 or else they could have truly messed up my tooth alignment. I ended up black and blue on my face and a little sore. No biggie though. Childbirth is worse (I imagine).


Now that's putting it into perspective!

Hey.. I was just in a conversation about this the other day. Ouch! I know so many people that had to go through this.. Lots of luck!!! Just think.. if you dont get them pulled now, It will get worse & worse!

Ask if you can take a pain pill an hour before, this way you can pre-medicate and be more comfortable.

Also, if you are really nervous and having anxiety ask for a Xanax.

Its not that BAD! I swear it. My FH had to have a tooth pulled at Stony Brook and he was so nervous. He was so scaried, i could see it in his face! But the had to admit afterwards it wasn't nearly as bad as he thought it would be.

One word...ICE! Make sure you ice immediatly after even if you are groggy and sleepy! It will prevent lots of swelling! I had no swelling at all! And had all four removed at the same time!

you'll be ok. just take pain medicine afterwards and try to sleep through the recovery.

Really, don't be scared - you'll be fine. The worst part of it was my nerves and I had the most serious type of wisdom tooth removal - all 4, all impacted, and at 25, the bottom ones were very close to roots, and I have ZERO pain tolerance. They had to put me to sleep, which I would've preferred anyway, and it was fine. If you have that option, I'd take it. Good luck!!!

Don't be too worried. I had 2 taken out recently and even though it hurt alot, I survived. Make sure you have lots soup and popsicles handy at home.

I just got mines taken out thursday, b/c it was hitting a sinus nerve, and I don't mean to scare you, but i'm still in pain. , my stomach has never been so deprived in its life. I can't seem to understand y my jaw is still hurting. Its just crazy..Good Luck!

Hey girls just an update...the procedure went fine, I do not remember a thing! I have no swelling, I've been icing since I got home. The only bad part, I had a bad reaction to the anestesia I haven't been feeling very well at all.

Did this happen to anyone else??

I can't answer your question about the anestesia, but did you call your dentist and ask him? Do you have to take any antibiotics?

Thanks Chris.........he gave me an antibiotic to take, and he said some people just dont handle the anestesia well...guess im one of them

Glad it went okay! If you're reacting to the anesthesia, just take it easy for a few days. I was just tired for a day or two, then I was fine.

Glad to hear it went well... I did not have any anethsesia, I got all four out with just novacaine, and honestly, it was fine.. It was over in 10 minutes and I barely felt anything.
The effects of the anethsia will wear off and you will feel better.
