going rate for a church???

Our church is requesting a $200 donation. The catch is, is that you have to use their organist and vocalist which adds another $200 to the budget for ceremony music. Does this sound reasonable?

Thanks to the wonderful bride who posted the link to the MS Clip Art Gallery, I used a really cute B&G on each card and typed each persons name with "Table #"....I will handwrite in the actual table # in black ink when the seating is finalized.

going rate for a church???

I think so - I'm paying $350 and that includes the organist and the soloist.

tips at church???

I know this may be a silly question but..who gets a tip in the end? I'm not quite sure who I should and shouldn't be tipping. Obviously, the photographer, maitre d', bridal attendant, altar boys, DJ. Who else? Do we give something "extra" to the priest who will be marrying us? That sounds like a harsh question but I'm not sure and wouldn't want to make a mistake. Tip for the limo drivers is included in the cost. But what about other vendors, like florists and stuff? The list for tips keeps getting longer and more expensive! I just want to make sure that i'm tipping the right people and not spending too much more than I have to since we are covering most of the costs for the wedding. Thanks so much!

Take the Belt to Southern State. From there get off the exit for "27 East" That is Sunrise Highway. get on the main hwy until you get to the exit for "Lincoln Avenue" (It's just after K-Mart, which will be on your left-K-Mart, that is). Go straight on the service road past the 1st light. The Flea market is right after Sayville Ford and Donaldsons VW. Good Luck! We picked out our rings there on a Sunday Morning right after they opened, and beat the crowds. We got matching white and yellow 14k gold bands (no stones), and paid $225 for both. We used Elegant Jewelry Co. They are right at front of the East Entrance.

Give yourselves alot of time to look, since there are A LOT of jewelers there.

tips at church???

I was also wondering about tips for the priest and the organist. We are "donating" money to the church as well. The amount hasn't been specified yet but we were thinking $300. I'm still unsure as to who gets a tip and who doesn't! :)

going rate for a church???

I thought so too, but as far as how much to tip each, I haven't got a clue. When I looked at the paperwork regarding the church and its' fees, they say several places that the altar boys/girls kindly accept gratutities. What about the priest?

Just a note, I'll be walking down a 90 foot aisle, and I thought that was long! LOL
