Technically I think you're supposed to. I do know that if a marriage last less than a year, everything is supposed to be returned.

Good luck! I am sure it was the right thing to do--much better to realize it now. I think you are supposed to return the gifts though...

If your DJ won't give you your $$$ back, make sure they at least let you use that money toward a future event, other wise take their butts to court. They have not provided a service for you and should not be able to keep that deposit.

I was in the same boat as you 7 years ago -- my wedding was canceled TWO WEEKS before! My heart goes out to you and hope time heals the wound quickly....

Please keep in touch. I sent you an f/m related to a different post. If you ever need to talk, I'm here for you. I called off an engagement four months prior to the wedding so I know how hard it is for you. But be proud of yourself to realize that the timing wasn't right for you instead of going through the motions. You're a strong woman and should be proud of yourself for so many reasons.
