We are using 'In My Life' Dad is a HUGE Beatles fan and up until I went to school when someone said music I thought they meant the Beatles soo it was a no brainer for me....others songs I considered (eg. John Mayer's Daughters but this fits us.

I used 'Lullaby' Billy Joel (I was moving to Alaska 3 days after the wedding and so it was a little bit depressing for that moment). There was not a dry eye in the room. Even the guys were crying. Wish we would have chosen something a little bit more upbeat. It took a while for the party to get going again. Turned it from a wedding reception to a farewell.

My sister is using 'There goes my life' by Kenny Chesney.

I Loved her First.
But I dont remember who sings it. It's kind of contemporary country, but doesn't sound country-sh... the chorus goes something like ' i loved her first/ i held her first/ from the first time she breathed/ first smiled at me/ i knew my heart would always be hers'

I am using 'The Rainbow Connection' from The Muppet Movie. One of my favorite memories is watching The Muppet Show with my dad every Sunday night when I was a kid, so the song has special meaning to us.

My dad doesn't really like soppy songs either. We are going to dance to a song by U2 that is not father daughter dance related at all. I am not the soppy type either so I'm glad he picked it. So how about a song that you know your dad loves and would be fun for you to dance to?

this is what I wanted but my mom got all upset and offended... they are divorced and she was thinking that I was saying I love him more than her (the lyrics say in my life I love you more)... ugh, do you see what I deal wiht?!
