again like i said, i was just venting .. i didnt mean to cause controversy.. and i never mentioned how much money I paid per plate so i dont know where the $100 per plate thing came from. i am well aware of the place I chose and how much we spent and it was our choice so i wanted to clarify that.

i was more mad about the no-shows and ones who came solo but responded with dates. It was more than a dozen people that did this. I did pay for those plates and to just not show up or bring your date??? everyone that did that to us is FINE- no deaths or circumstances that would not warrant at least a phone call. so yes i am mad that all of that money went down the tubes b/c people were inconsiderate and did not inform us ahead of time that they werent bringing a date or could not come. and still some of them have still not called.. we called mutual friends to find out if they were ok..


so again sorry if it stirred up mixed feelings. i really didnt want any opinions even though I made it sound like I did. I just needed to vent.

i know the whole wedding/marriage thing is not about the $$ i think everything just got to me at once. but the above DOES irk me still..

I just want to say that as for the ten no shows....

If I were you I would call them each up and say I hope everything's OK i was worried something happened to you when I saw that your place card was still on the table when the wedding was over. Anyway, I have your 'favor/thankyou' and would like to know when can I bring it by and visit a bit.

If they say you dont have to say well its already paid and i want you to have it ... maybe when you drop it off they'll give you a gift ...but dont depend on it its really a heads up to them that you planed for them to be there and they pulled a no show

You are too nice. If someone did that too me, I would be waiting to hear from them, not the other way arounf. I don't think I would bother with them after that unless they had a really good reason as to why they missed it.

And honey re-deposit those checks, If you don't have the money then don't give a check!!!!!
