grooms at showers???
Do grooms-to-be go to bridal showers these days, or is it still a "Ladies" thing???

grooms at showers???
My family has a tradition of having the shower in a location where the men in our family can also participate....we typically have a brunch in one room w/the girls and the guys usually go to the restaurant/bar area - eat, drink and watch sports. : )
The guys came in once in a while to say hello and join the party but they were having a good time all on their own!
It was nice b/c the men in my extended family were able to get to know Paul better - a nice warm up for the wedding! : )
grooms at showers???
I agree. I have been to alot of showers lately that were in restaurants and the ladies were in one room and the gents at the bar. The men and woman ate together and opened gifts together. It was a nice swing on the traditional girls only. Some of the guys felt funny but they got over it. I dont see why the fiance should not be included. Go for it......
WHat time of year was your quote for? I'm having my reception on New Year's Day and I was originally quoted a price of $110 and they changed it to $65 for the exact same menu.
It is important that you be completely comfortable with your decision. If you're not - go elsewhere. There are plenty of other people out there who will cater to your needs. You shouldn't have to 'push' for anything...
grooms at showers???
My husband came to mine the last half hour. We dressed him in aprons and put him in oven mitts--that poor thing, to have 75 ladies all whistling at him. What a good guy!! LOL
Estelles is another suggestion, although they are hit-and miss.
grooms at showers???
My dad is coming to my shower because according to him "If he's going to pay for it, he's going to eat at it and enjoy it". I say good for him. I talked my fiance into coming A.) to keep dad company and B.) The guests and gifts are also his, so why shouldn't he be there to greet and thank them as well? It may make him appreciate more the efforts of the women in his life. Plus, he'll need to get aquainted with the appliances and cooking goodies we receive since I can't make a decent slice of toast! I think there should be a grooms shower, complete with socket sets, screwdrivers, stuff like that. Why is it all on the women to do the "nice" things in celebration of a wedding?
Thanks guys for the additional positive feedback. It definetly can make you nervous when you're paying all this money for basically the food, service, and location. And to hear one bad comment, it can make you unsure. All I know is that I have complete trust in The Jericho Terrace for our wedding and to all future brides, definetly check it out. You really get alot for your money!
Also Jeannine, we wanted a June 2001 wedding (the place looks amazing in the summer w/ all the flowers,) but the day and room we wanted was booked, so we changed to May. If the tasting is holding you back, I would definetly go taste ASAP, b/c there are only 10 weekend days in June, and when we went to sign the contract in January, they were already pretty booked. Good Luck and keep us posted!
