Re: Grossest thing that's ever happened at a Restaurant

DH and I were at Nathan's in Westbury waiting at the register for our food. When I looked over at the fries I noticed a roach on the counter. DH told the guy there is a roach n the counter and the guy smacked it with his hand and flung it on to the floor and looked at us and said What Roach? Well, we haven't been back there since!! Nasty!!

Re: Grossest thing that's ever happened at a Restaurant

This doesn't have to do w/ restaurants.. but they say if you eat peanut butter on a frequent basis all year round.. you eat an average of 10 mice in all. They collect at the bottom of the peanut butter mixers and get mixed in with it all...

ANYONE WANT SOME PB & J????

Re: Grossest thing that's ever happened at a Restaurant

wasn't a restaurant, but at Yogurt and such in roosevelt field. I was at the end of my salad, and i see under the lettuce there was a dead roach. I was ready to vomit.

i got a nice spinach salad from Valley caterers that had a tiny grasshopper or cricket in it.... still alive. luckily it hopped out before i started eating. ICK!

omg, is nothing sacred??? i love pb and chocolate. kind of makes ya want to go all organic and grow your own stuff. however, i have worked in restaurants and food stores and they happen...roaches are inevitable, no matter how clean the restaurant. not an excuse, but it is still nasty.

no...it's not an excuse...restaurants should do whatever they have to do to ensure there are no bugs in the food.

OK, I know I am weird but I find that kind of hilarious!!
We were at Mama Sbarro's in East Meadow and my sister's BF found a pubie looking hair baked into his lasagna. We called the waitress over and she replied 'are you sure it isn't your's?' . Yeah, he was in the kitchen baking the lasagna. Anyway, she wouldn't take it off the bill so we didn't tip her or go there ever again.
And my mom and sister's got E-Coli at an Applebee's in Farmingdale.
