SUCH A CUTIE!!! What a face
When we potty trained our dogs we took them out but I'm sure a similar method would work for you. At the same time everyday we took the dog to the same section in the yard (your case wee-wee pad) and had her sniff around and get used to the idea that this was where she was to go and when she did we gave her cheerios (or a treat) to show that she did good. I hope that maybe helps a little bit! Good luck!!
Congrats!

yeah we were going to do the wee-wee pad but then the vet said she thought it would be better for us to train her to go outside-- so if we do that she will learn to hold it until we get home and take her outside... so it was the same routine that you posted-- with the spot in the yard... so far we have not been able to 'catch her' in enough time to scoop her up and run her outside before she squats but we are trying-- and we take her out before her meals and then after-- and we took some of her urine that was in the crate and poured it in the soil outside so hopefully the smell will attract her...
it just takes time and patience!! she is so worth it, besides this one hurdle (all dogs have the same hurdle so it's not her fault) she is AMAZING-- so well behaved, not too high strung, not too lazy, just PERFECT, never barks-- she is amazing... so far, the best 72 hours ever!!!!!!!
ETA: we just saw the vet today, her first visit, she is a fave at the office!!

YAY!! I know how you feel, training them is the worst but once it's done it is soooooo much better, YOU CAN DO IT!! That's so exciting though for you! My mom is on a list to wait for a Golden Retriever Pup! I can't wait....I miss having a dog around!! I wish you the best of luck and hang in there!!

aww!! thanks so much!! we definitely feel like we CAN do it so that's great-- and she does seem like she is understanding where her 'piddle' spot in the yard is-- we bring her out there every two minutes and if she has an accident we just take whatever we can of 'it' and put it out on her piddle spot in the yard with her so she understands and this morning she actually went in the spot so i think she is slowly but surely getting it!!!
she had her first vet visit like i said, she had her first grandma/grandpa visit too... she's a busy dog! and she has another vet appt next week...
so we love it and we love her!!!!
thanks again

Oh my god he is so cute. My FH actually has a 13 year old dog just like that. Of course he's blind and has diabetes and probably won't last much longer but he always said he wanted another one just like him. I ahve to show him these pics!Welcome New Vendors
