Hair/Make-Up
I just found out that both of the people that I had tentatively booked to do my hair and make-up on the morning of my wedding are not available. Can anyone recommend a hair stylist or make-up artist who will come to my home (Nassau County) on the morning of my wedding? Thanks.
It has been very interesting reading all the comments about Fox Hollow over the past few days. I thought I should answer everyone’s questions so that it would be clear as to what is actually happening.
There are Senior Citizens homes being built on the property west of Fox Hollow. The property is owned by the same company that owns the Fairhaven Apartments. They have owned the property for over 10 years. Their decision to build, although not my favorite, is their decision. As everyone knows, within 10-15 years almost 50% of the population will be over 50 years old, thus, there is a huge demand for such complexes. That is why the property owner is building the site. As a result of this construction, we have met with our neighbors and prepared a plan to plant more than 2 dozen 16 foot trees to buffer our garden from the adjacent property as well as putting curtains up in our ballroom that will block the view of the new site while giving our guests full view of our gardens.

I have seen a lot of postings referring J Bari. I am sorry I do not have the info with me righ tnow. I think their site is www.jbari.com.
They are located on Bell Blvd in Queens... and I heard that they will travel. In fact, I was going to look them up to get some info. A friend of mine had her makeup done by them and said it was well worth it!
Hope this helps!

Actually, Janet Bari is who I had intended to use, but between my trial run with her and when I sent in the contract and deposit she had booked someone else. Although I am way disappointed, I would definitely encourage you to check her out. I thought she did a great job during my trial run and I was looking forward to having her do my wedding day make-up. So, I guess a word to the wise, if you do go for the trial run and you like her I would book immediately because there's no guarantee she'll be available when you send in the contract (even if you send it within the same week). Best of luck!
I say go for it.
My best friend had a chocolate dipped, chocolate wedding cake, with chocolate filling. It was great, and everyone commented on the fact that it wasn't the usual white/buttercream cake.

Diedre - Could you email me J.bari prices. I need someone in two months for my wedding. Thanks! I heard Jamille used her and she was very pleased and recommended her
To the few that seem to be ruining for the rest of us:
I am sad to say that this board has hit quite a low point. Why can't people express their opinion without getting blasted? Then there are those of you totally bashing places without the proper information to do so. Now we have hall owners joining the list to defend their reputations!

Kate,
You didn't send your e-mail address, but J Bari's prices are $100 for the bride, $75 each for MOB/MOH, and I think $50 for each bridesmaid. She also charges $25 for traveling. The trial visit is $30 which is not applied towards your contract price. Hope this helps.

Thank you.
In a very tactful way, have her consider saving the money from having to buy a bridesmaid dress, dyed shoes, jewelry, etc. and put it towards her travel expences...

please look at my site, i'm under beauty on this site. i have before and after photos of faces i have done
Thank you Dawn.
For those of you who supported my opinion and feel Mark is wrong... thank you, but as somone mentioned on this site... There is a big click going on here and I don't feel that I can give an opinion anymore without being trashed and shredded to pieces. Therefore, I'm signing off for a while. Our weddings are tough enough without all of this bickering. I get blasted for defending myself and these other brides keep piping in telling me to shut up. If it were there topic or something they felt, I'm sure if would be different. This site obviously belongs to Mr. Mark and his opinions. It's not for me. Thank you to everyone who supported me.
