Hair/Make-up FIRST?

Hi Ladies: Does anyone know which to do first. Your hair or makeup. I need to schedule my two people, who are from seperate places. Do I go get my hair done first? And, also, I have a friend of a friend coming to do make-up. Does anyone know what to pay someone who just does it on the side. She is a friend of the families and probably won't ask for anything, but my girls and I want to give her something. Does $25.00 sound fair or correct? per girl

I highly recommend Bonaventure. I bought my dress there, because I liked the intimate atmosphere, and every one was so helpful. I went there first, and then to about 5 other stores. I ended up back at Bonaventure because I got the best feeling from them.

Looking for dresses can drive you insane! I also had to decide between a traditional wedding dress with lace, and a modern, summery and elegant dress. I kept wishing I could buy all 5 dresses I fell in love with, and change every hour. But at some point you just decide, and then go with that look. Good luck!

Hair/Make-up FIRST?

Have your makeup done first so they don't mess up your hair while putting the maekup on. SOmetimes the bluch brush can pull little bits of your hair out around your face and you'll have to fix it.

Again, Thanks Again for the heads up on the ordering problem there, I am not overly concerned about the ordering problems. It's really just a dress it would not destroy the day if things did not work out. Everything works out in the end!!

I went to two weddings there in the past few months. To me it seemed like a factory with no personal attention. At the end of my best friends wedding they rushed her out because there was another wedding after hers that they had to get ready for. The DJ (house DJ) stopped playing ten minutes before the end to aid in the get'm outta here for the next wedding turn around.

Hair/Make-up FIRST?

I WAS LUCKY HAD I HAD THE HAIR AND MAKE-UP PEOPLE COME TO MY HOUSE. THEY WANTED ME TO HAVE MY HAIR DONE FIRST THEN THE MAKE-UP AND SHE TOUCHED UP MY HAIR AGAIN BEFORE THE PICTURES. HOPE THAT HELPS

Hi Judy,

You are absolutely right. Your contract had been amended in writing, by the management. Of course you are going to lose the 50%, etc, but they AGREED in writing to give you back anything in excess of that. It would be your loss if they ran off with the "extra" payments, but I just looked at my contracts, and anything OVER the deposit I am supposed to get back if I cancel!!! It does not make sense that they can just "keep" payments! They are only legally entitled to the deposit plus some percentage of the affair (depending on your contract). So, of the $3000 over that you paid, less your deposit and fees, you are entitled to that money!!!

Hair/Make-up FIRST?

Cathy,

Do you mind sharing who you used for hair/makeup? Were you happy with the job they did. I'd also like to have people come to the house to do my hair/makeup and that of my bridesmaids.

Also, if you don't mind me asking, approximately how much did they charge?

Hair/Make-up FIRST?

If you are wearing your hair up, you should have your hair set first and then your makeup done, after your hair is completed the makeup artist will touch up... If you are wearing your hair down, at least your face makeup should be done after your hair is washed and then the rest after it is dried....

It sounds like you got a great deal. My price is a little lower, not much, but we did not get video. They told us we could add it later in Jan or Feb. So, I guess we need to make a decision on that.

I'll check my package tonight and let you know more tomorrow.
