Hair Reccomendation in Suffolk

Help!! Im getting married March 31, 2000 & dont know what I am going to do about my hair yet. I dont have a regular salon since I have moved several times in the past few years. I had 2 trial runs at my moms salon in Port Jeff, but was unhappy with the results. Can anyone reccomend a salon in Port Jeff or Stonybrook or vicinity?? Ive read good things on this board about Janet Bari, but not sure if she does hair -does anyone know? Also, do you have to go to her Queens location for the trial? ANY info would be much appreciated!! Thanks

I go to a place in Holtsville - not very far from Stony Brook - called Sheer Extasy (654-0011). It's my regular salon -- not very fancy but affordable and great work. Irene is the one who does my hair and said she also does make-up. Sue also does the fancy hair and boasts to be the "Best Up-Sweep in the East." They're funny. Couldn't hurt.

Try Visage in the Stony Brook Village Center. I have the reverse situation - I lived in SB since 1990 and recently moved to Queens and still get my hair done in Stony Brook!

My hairstylist, Jerilynn, does NOT do updos but there are others in there that do. Very, good work and their prices are reasonable. They have a nail salon but I"m not sure if they do makeup as well.....I am going there on Tuesday night for my last cut and touch up highlights before my wedding on the 25th! Their number is 751-0830.

Although I did not book J.Bari, I did speak to her. Her trials are in her studio (but its easy to access on Bell Blvd - GCP or LIE to Clearview Expwy).

I go to Razing Hair in Bayport. They are fabulous. They know what looks good on you, are very stylish, and Eric does make-up beautifully. They are a little pricey, but it is worth it. Renee cuts my hair..she has never done an updo for me, but I have seen people she has done them for and they come out beautiful. Good luck!!
