Hallockville Museum Farm

Does anyone have any info about using the barn at Hallockville for a wedding? They will only give me info over the phone and because they keep unusual office hours, I can't call them until Wednesday. I really have my heart set on a bigger mansion wedding, but I want to explore smaller wedding options since I'm still struggling with the idea of spending so much money on a huge affair.

I spoke with someone from Hallockville over the phone so I have info at home that I can send you later.

I loved the look and feel of the barn and the staff seemed nice, but I had to eliminate it from my venue options. To have an event there you have to supply everything – chairs, tables, dance floor, etc. I would have loved to have a space that I could totally customize myself, but it just seemed like so much more work and money.

Ugh, that's what I'm afraid of. I also eliminated anywhere that had you bring in your own vendors, but for the bigger wedding I'm thinking about (125 people). I was thinking if I decided to go with a small wedding (50-75) I'd use Hallockville and maybe then it wouldnt be so much work/money to bring people in. Idk.

I would love your info though when you get a chance!! Thanks!

I also have some info about Hallockville if katiephoto hasn't given it to you yet. My quotes are from last year though so they may be a little outdated. I really wanted to get married there, a house on the property belonged to my great grandparents and across the street (that is now Martha Clara Vineyards) used to be my Grandfather's potato farm! Unfortunately it was too expensive and you do have to bring everything in, and even get your own insurance. The barn is also pretty small, I think anything over 99 people and you'd have to have a tent rental for additional space.

I took a look around at home and I don’t think I have the info any more, sorry! Guess I spoke too soon!

I think if you had a smaller wedding there it would definitely be more manageable. Have you checked out Old Bethpage Restoration Village? I don’t know too much about it but they have a barn and do weddings there. Not sure if you have to bring everything in.

I called them for my engagement party and I remember that it was going to cost something around 5,000.00 to just rent the space and then you would have to pay for many things additional. If you need someone to call on Wednesday- I would be more than happy to call for you!

THAT much?!?! Wow. I saw a post from 2007 that said $1500 and I figured it went up in price in 7 years but that's soooo much higher! This is clearly not the 'cheaper/smaller' option that I thought it would be lol
