Has anyone used Cantor David Benedict?

My Fi and I are being married by both a cantor and priest and have heard great things about Cantor Benedict. Has anyone used him and if so what was the damage? $$ -Stacey 6-30-01

hi! I was thinking of using Benedict at my wedding as our reception sight recommended him.However, we are having a non-denominational ceremony...is Benedict a 'good choice' for this type ceremony?

That is EXACTLY what my fiance and I wanted to do, but once we started trying to find a house, a tent company, a caterer, etc., we gave up and opted for the easier route of going to a per-packaged catering hall (not that I'm complaining in the least about Oheka Castle!).

Cantor Benedict is fantastic!!(very nice too) For my first wedding I had Monsignor Jim Lisante and Cantor Benedict. I am Catholic so my Msgr. Jim did most of the ceremony and Cantor Benedict did a few prayers. It was great!
The two of them also officiated at a wedding I went to in August at Oheka. This was a Jewish ceremony so we really got to see Cantor Benedict in action. Everyone commented on how beautiful the ceremony was.

We, too, were going to use Jim Lisante (who is an absolute angel !!!!), and Cantor Benedict. The only problem was the Cantor was unavailable for our date. But, he was really nice over the phone, and he came highly recommended to us by another friend of ours who had seen them at a wedding together. They work together quite often, apparently.

You will enjoy it. It was one of the first times we were sitting in a room with so many other couples who were going through the same things we were about getting married, plans, etc.

Also, on a more practical note, I was able to get some great advise on vendors, etc. from other brides and grooms-to-be in the room. Good luck and enjoy...

We tried to get Mons. Lisante but he was unavailable for our 6-30-01 wedding but he did recommend Cantor Benedict. We called around and found Father Peter Dugandzig..Anyone know about him??

I feel like such a church person all of a sudden. Fr. Peter use to be stationed at my church (St. Williams in Seaford). He's a very nice man and a good speaker. I always tried to go to the masses that he was doing. As far as how he is with weddings, I've never been to one that he did.

I didn't even know that they worked together when I started planning my first wedding. I know Jim Lisante personally through a friend of mine and my fi's family knows Cantor Benedict so it wasn't until after we made the arrangements that we found out they were friends.
It's such a small world--My fi's cousin's now husband is Msgr. Jim's(and Cantor Benedict's) dentist so he did their wedding(the one I went to at Oheka) and also did the cousin's sisters wedding(at St. Thomas the Apostle)

Even though my FI and I have been introduced to Cantor Benedict previously, we had the opportunity to sit down with him at his house last thursday night and discuss wedding plans. I have to tell you that Im so pleased that we decided to have him as part of our wedding day and he has to be the sweetest, most fascinating man i have ever met. The $600 fee is a small price for what we will do for us on our wedding day, GULP!! (seriously, hes worth it once you hear all about his life and reputation).

The way that bands should be booked are 1 piece per 25 people. If you are having 145 people, an adequate size band would be 6 pieces.

Try calling Jim Faith (James Faith Entertainment) @ 631-331-0808. He has set up band @ Oheka several times and can advise you as to what would be most appropriate.

thanks so much for responding...my fi and I met with David yesterday, and the feeling is mutual...we both felt honored to be in his presence - even before knowing that he was as multi-faceted he truly is...The price is Steep, however people like that are few and far between...we feel totally comfortable leaving our ceremony in his hands...
