well FH and I both love orange and it was an inside joke with us, so we are using that. i figured i would make it summery with some pink and yellows. i love bright colours so that is what i am doing.

I had a fall wedding and decided on terracotta and olive for the BM dresses and orange/pink/green for the B-O-K's and CP.

I waited till I found my dress, to choose the BM's dress and colors. I am now going with black, which I am nervous about but my dress is cream and ivory so Iwanted something to make the dress look a bit more traditional. Look through magazines and look at flowers that are in season during your wedding. That will also help.

I picked my dress first and then thought,'What will look best with this.' I was looking for romantic.

Then I found a dress that was sort of silvery and that eliminated a lot for me. I then picked out a BM dress and looked at what colors it came in and picked what went best with my dress.

I ended up with pink pink pink!

I really like a warm beige color, very neutral and elegant. It's like what Jessica Simpson (let's hope no one has the same fate!!) had on her girls. The men wore black vests and ties and Nick had on all white underneath. It was beautiful in pics. Check out her wedding book at Borders.
I love red but I know you said that you did not want to do that because your sister did...understandable. My sister is doing a soft pink (organza material, very flowy and pretty).
And I was surprised (b/c I would have never thought of this color) when I saw chocolate brown on girls in a wedding I went to, it was very pretty and it would be good for the month you are getting married in. With the right dress that's a nice color.
Then there's always the classic, black and white wedding, girls in black dresses and the men to match--really striking.
As for worrying about the men matching the girls--I wouldn't let that deter you from a color. I think with a soft pink (or any color) and the men in black, groom in white underneath would look great.
All in all, beige, black, neutral colors--even a light/soft green, soft pinks, and brown b/c it fits your month are my picks.

I originally wanted a deep red because i thought it would look so nice in contrast to a white dress. Then when we were dress shopping, i saw a dress in platinum and fell in love with the color.
What sealed it for me is when i had my MOH try on the dress and we asked two other girls in the store what they thought of the color - they both said it was pretty but not for a wedding. That instantly made me like the color even more because it would be something different!
I then had my jr. bm get a dress in the dark red and the whole combination came out great in my opinion!

I like the idea of one of the other posters who found a pilllow with the colors she wanted for inspiration.. great idea!

I loved black magic roses so I picked wine and white (cream) which went with the time of year and well (Valentine's Day and all)

i always loved purple, so i saw a 2 pc dress i liked...go to billlevkoff.com & pull up style#717 & the color im using is european eggplant...even if u dont like that color, they give you other colors to look at to give u ideas of what looks nice & doesnt....good luck!

I don't really have a color scheme, but thats because my wedding is in autumn. I do have a lot of red in my wedding but my flowers are very mixed. Thats why I love the fall you can get away with it.

Originally I wanted a spring wedding, and I just wanted all different shades of blue, from baby blue to deep sapphire. I just love blue, and I think it makes a great wedding color because it is so joyful and happy, but still soft and romantic, and also because most people look good in some shade of blue, and nobody would raise objections to buying a blue bridesmaids dress as they might with pink, etc.

Then we switched to a fall wedding, and my dad pointed out that blue flowers don't tend to grow naturally in the fall. At that time, we were planning on having the ceremony at my parents' house, and he was going to plant flowers around to bloom on my date, so that wouldn't have worked. Plus, all of those various shades of blue are really more of a spring thing, and don't have the deep richness of fall colors. So, I decided to keep the blue, but add a deep red and deep purple, which do bloom in the fall, and call it a sort of 'jewel tone' wedding.

In the end we decided to have the ceremony at the hall anyway, but I think those deep jewel tones will be so rich and full and gorgeous, and fitting with the season, so I'm keeping them.

My favorite color is burgundy, and that is what I wanted. I was a little scared that the color was too close to what my sister used, but Dessy, Jordan, and Impression all make a true burgundy, without a hint of red that I absolutely love. I have actually held Jordan's color next to Bill Levkof's Euro Wine, and the Levkoff color truly looks red compared to Jordan's.

From there, knowing I like things that are totally contrasting, (as opposed to various shades of the same color) I went with white as my other color. There will be a few silver accents floating around, but the predominant colors are burgundy and white.

my colors kinda just landed in my lap. when i went shopping for bm's dresses with the girls i didn't know what colors to choose. and then my sister (and MOH) tried on an apple red dress and i fell in love with the color. i didn't want all red because I'm in June so i threw in a dash of pink and voila! perfect for my time of year and i love the combo!

My BMs decided on the exact color. I wanted some shade of blue or purple but they ultimately picked it out.
