I of course picked my only sister. She would have had my head if I didn't. I don't see a problem with asking them both. If one of them has a problem with it, then maybe that person should be a bridesmaid instead. Good Luck

My sister hands down is my Matron of Honor, she is the best friend I always have had even when we had our ups and downs, she will always be my sister and my Best Friend. My MOH is a friend that has always been there thru thick and thin, she was there thru EVERYTHING for me.(Good times, bad times, break ups, sickness, deaths etc.)

I didn't have to decide betweem people. My MOH has been my best friend for 17 years. She has ALWAYS been there for me through good times & bad and I couldn't even think of getting married without her as my MOH.

I think either way, you should have a talk with the single girl about how it is YOUR special day (your meaning you and FH) and that you would appreciate it if she could help you with things and that you really like the color you will be choosing for your bm dresses and that maybe it's not the color she would choose but since you're the one getting married you would really appreciate it if she could help you by being less critical of what you want. When she gets married, she can tell you what color to wear and even if it's fushia plaid, you'll wear it! (I hope she wouldn't do that to you, though!) Definitely emphasize that you want all your close friends to share in your day and that having a maid and matron does not mean they are 'sharing' the role since she is a maid and the married friend is a matron.

Or you can ask a relative to be the MOH and tell the other 2 girls that your mother asked you do ask a relative. That way she can't really complain about it.

My maid of honor has been my bestfriend since kindergarten. i was lucky enough to not have to think about it!

I wish I had a close female relative who I could ask. My cousins and I have drifted and I haven't seen them in 5 years or so. The prospective matron and maid have been my friends since ages 4 and 5 respectively. They are both good friends and have been there for me when I needed them. Although the married friend was the one who encouraged me to date FH (when she first met him, she pulled me aside and asked why I WASN'T dating him yet) and the single friend wasn't impressed with FH until she saw how good he was for me. Married friend had the forsight. Single friend didn't.

Why, oh why, oh why couldn't I have a sister?
