Re: How did you pick your Maid or Matron of Honor?
I think I will ask all of my attendants this summer, but I will put off making a decision about honor until I have sorted this out. Thanks for the opinions. I wish I had a sister, I think I would just chose her and leave it at that. The two friends I am talking about each have a sister. The married friend (the one I am leaning towards as MOH) asked her sister to be her MOH and the single friend has already stated that she will ask her sister when her time comes. Oh how I wish I had a sister.

easy for me - my sister - although lately she has been weird saying she doesn't want to be - so if she pulls out - i am in the same boat - i have a few close friends and don't know how to choose...plus i want my sister to be it too....

Re: How did you pick your Maid or Matron of Honor?
I do not have a sister, so I chose the closest friend I have to a sister. I met her when I was 9, she was 19. She was my new dance teacher.
She took me under her wing. We have known each other for 17 years and I don't think I could've chosen anyone better for the part! Her 4 kiddies are in my BP too!
Edited to say: WHAT is wrong with having TWO? A lot of brides do that these days!!! I think that's the best way for you to handle your situation! If your 'Maid' doesn't want to share the role, then that's her problem. JMO of course!
Take your time though, sometimes I wish I thought a little MORE about those I chose for my BP!

Re: How did you pick your Maid or Matron of Honor?
I asked 2 - my Best Friend who introduced me to FH and another close friend who I used to be close to but have drifted from in the last year (my cousin's girlfriend who I set up)....BF (Sept20yay) accepted and the other friend accepted and then a week later told me she couldn't do it - I say ask them both and if the single friend has a problem sharing the role then she has the option of telling you.

Re: How did you pick your Maid or Matron of Honor?
Mine are my sisters. One is my Matron of Honor. One is my Maid of Honor. I couldn't imagine having one and not the other. They have done everything for me and have enjoyed sharing the responsibilities.

Another question: Who signs the certificate if you have two ladies of honor?

Mine will be my Matron of honor since out of my two sisters she is closer in age to me.

Re: How did you pick your Maid or Matron of Honor?
Can you only have two attendants sign the certificate (traditionally one male, one female)? Does anyone know the legalities?

Re: How did you pick your Maid or Matron of Honor?
Mine are my sisters too. I am the middle one if three. I am very close with both of them. I could never choose between them. So my older sister is my Matron and my younger sister is my Maid of Honor. They are both thrilled, so that makes me happy

Re: How did you pick your Maid or Matron of Honor?
I will most likely have them both unless one of them annoys me too much during the planning process
Now about the marriage certificate signing? Any info?

Re: How did you pick your Maid or Matron of Honor?
I think it is 2 witnesses on your certificate - traditionally one from the brides side and one from the grooms, but best to check with the locality where you are getting your license.

Re: How did you pick your Maid or Matron of Honor?
I am a MOH in a wedding where there is also a Matron of Honor and her and I are gkad to have each other to share the 'duties' with.I think it's nice....
I know some girls would not be so understanding and I myself have to toy with the idea of having 2 MaidsOH b/c neither were married.
But in the end, I only chose 1 and am happy, b/c the other turned out to be a flake.
So from my response, as you can see, I have mixed reviews.....
Good Luck!

Re: How did you pick your Maid or Matron of Honor?
I asked both of my sisters to be my matrons of honor and it worked out because my fiance couldnt decide between two of his best friends. So now he has too best men. Also for my sister's wedding, she had two matrons of honor and it really wanst a problem. Good luck!

Pick names out of a hat would be hilarious. Even better, I will make it a competition. Whoever is more attentive to me this summer will win the title

Re: How did you pick your Maid or Matron of Honor?
I wonder how many ladies would bend over backwards just to have the title. I could never make my friends compete to be my MOH although I would love to see who would do what to get the honor.
