08er crashing... our date picked itself!

I'm go to law school OOT and wanted to take a honeymoon which really narrowed our dates to winters or summers. we will have a lot of OOT guests, so we picked summer so travel will be easier. Also, I love the summer and warm weather.

I ruled out summer 09 because I'll be taking the bar exam and didn't want to be distracted from my studying or a miserable bride-to-be. That left summer 08! Sooner than my family thought (they all thought we'd get married right after law school) but we've been together 5.5 years already so we're not really rushing.

2L summer is really important because the firm you work at usually gives you a permanent offer, so I didnt want to miss work or cause my friends to miss work -- that led to the beginning of may or middle of Aug. May is right after finals, and Aug is closer to our anniv of 9/1. I have 2 weeks bw finishing my summer job and starting classes again, so we picked the middle weekend -- gives me one week to go back to NY and relax and get ready, and it also avoids my birthday weekend (8/8)

As for the day itself, I'm Jewish and Jews aren't supposed to get married on Shabbat (Fri sundown -> Sat sundown) and sundown is late in Aug so we'd have to start our ceremony at like 8 or 8:30pm. Sooo we decided to do Sunday afternoon. I love sun and daylight

Unfortunately bc of our tight schedule we leave for our honeymoon the next morning, but that's what my parents did and it will work out fine

we wanted a spring wedding, but it was pretty pricey, and we were flexible. but we definitly wanted it to be during the warmer months so we could take a longer honeymoon.. and 8/7/09 was open.. we got an amazing deal and now we all the time in the world to take our honeymoon.

plus im pretty anal and like how its 8-7-9. easy to remember.

I actually always wanted a summer wedding but it was too much $$$$. We considered a Thurs. night but I wanted all of our family members to be able to come without a problem. When we found out how great the prices were in the off-season months, we decided to go with March. We picked the last weekend in March hoping that since it is as close to Spring as we can get, we might get a nice day. We also chose to do a Saturday afternoon. I wanted to have daylight and be able to look out the large windows at my RH and see the nice view. So, now March 28th is our special day!

we wanted to get married a year after my sister and we also wanted his family to be able to come from croatia (they own a bed and breakfast there and cant come during their busy months )

we wanted to get married in either march or april because I get really sick in the heat... so while we wanted a fall wedding at first (we got engaged 11/18/07 and didn't want to rush for fall 08... and didn't want to wait two years for fall 09 so we comprised on a different COOLER time of the year) March 21st.. just happened to be available at a great price at Giorgios

it will be our 4year anniversary and it is my grandmothers bday and his gfather bday

I thought september would have great weather and I didnt want to honeymoon potentially in the hurricane season. Also, I didnt want it too close to our bdays in May.

I wanted an early summer wedding. I am a teacher and work until the end of June so the next date would be July 3rd but I didn't want it around July 4th and then the next earliest Friday was July 10th. It is one week away from my FH's birthday and it was open!!!! After that it was too late in July and I wouldn't doo August.

we got engaged just before this xmas..i originally wanted a may or june wedding..but if that was the case, it would have had to be 2010..cause 09 just seemed too soon. upon thinking about it, i compromised and said oct 09, since it gave us a few more months....we wanted a sunday, and the beginning of oct..so thus oct 11...which turns out to be columbus day weekend...

My great grandparents were very close to me and really had an AMAZING fairytale love story. The died when I was about 13....I alsways looked up to them so we picked their date. They were married 2.20.27 and we will be 2.20.09

We just picked a day that worked best for us. I wanted summer and early fall and this date worked out. My only advice is when you know u want a date BOOK IT! B/c if you wait it may get picked up by someone else quickly...

we picked our date 2/14/09 cause we thought it was really cute and it landed on a sat night that made me say yes all the way

We went with the date that was most affordable for us and that didn't have any other conflicts. It wasn't special before, but it sure is now!!

That's what happened to us. We were going to get married in August and now we are having a July 4th weekend celebration and its 4 days after my brithday!

I never wanted a winter wedding, i wanted a fall or spring...the fall was too expensive for us, and i didnt want the spring because i wanted alittlle more time for us to save $$$$...so we picked the summer

We wanted the look of Christmas without the price of a Christmas wedding. So we booked it for 2 days after New Years. All of the decor is still up and it's $35 cheaper per person.

We really wanted a fall wedding and always loved Oct. We went with a Friday night wedding, since they are a little cheaper. We wanted the 2nd of Oct, because I don’t deal well with the cold and figured the later in Oct it is the colder. Plus, it starts getting darker out earlier each week.
