My FI is taking no days off, but our wedding falls on a 3 day weekend so we have saturday and sunday. After that he has 3 weeks off!

2 Days - FH will flying into NY on thursday for our Sat wedding.

I plan on coming to NY, Tues night or early Wed morning. (We live in Chicago)

My wedding is on a friday, so he is just taking that day off. I am taking half a day on thursday, and of course all of friday.

None - FH will work the Friday before our Sunday wedding. He is taking all his vacation days for our honeymoon!

No matter what days off...regular days off (RDO's).

I still think...these men should have at least 2 days off before the big day. What about the rehersal dinner? & hair cuts?

My guy works from 3 30 pm till 12AM. He can be lazy. Sleeping late!!!!

& I swear if I have to talk to him 1 more time, we will get into an argument.

I will let the priest deal with him. He acts like his job is the key holder to the nuclear bomb for the United States..or something...

He is just taking off the day before. There really isnt much that I need him to do.

our wedding is on a sunday. i doubt i will take off any days.. our HM is for 2 weeks.
friday night is rehershal events. saturday is backup day incase we need stuff (i doubt we need it) or just to relax. sunday = big day

i don't see it being a problem. if you are prepared, you have nothing to worry about. you shouldn't have to run around and do last minuite stuff. PLAN PLAN PLAN

Calm down, Cheryl...It will all work out. If you decide to have your RD on Thurs night then he will have to take Thurs off since he works a late shift. But if you have the RD on Fri, He can get his hair cut Thurs before he goes to work and he will have friday afternoon/evening for the RD.

I agree, calm down. How long does it take for a guy to get a haircut? 20 mins max? It's not worth fighting over. I am sure he will be ready to go when he is supposed to be. In the meantime, bugging him about what you think he should be doing and how much time it might take for him to do it might cause greater arguments...Relax! It'll all be fine!

our preist 'reccommended' we both take teh day before off. I though that was cute.
He was goignto anyway, our rehersal is at 7pm, adn we liv ein westchester. I don't thin he realy needs much mor etiem than that.
he'll get haircut a week or 2 before, b/c they always cut it too short.
Mostly he needs to pack, b/c we are leaving the morning after the wedding straight from the hotel.

I'm a slow packer, I hate my job & I get a lot of vacation, so I may take a few days off.
also , b/c my MOH may come out the week before & we are only taking a 1 week HM, so it won't be a problem to take extra time.


I had friends that got married on a Sunday & didn't take anytime off before hand.

speaking from my own experinece.....i would say take at least one day off beforehand.
we took two days off before....and yesterday we spent the entire day doing all of those last minute things that you can't do until the last minute - place cards, favors, programs, wrapping all of the gifts.
i thought i had it all planned out very well, but in the end - there was a lot to do and not a lot of time to do it.....be careful!!

We are getting married on a Friday and that is the only day before he is taking off I am taking off Tues-Fri. I figured I would work Monday to settle any loose ends.

Mine took one.. The friday before and it was because we had the rehearsal dinner that night. I took off 3 before.

My wedding is on a saturday and I am taking off Wed-Fri and FI is taking off Thur-Fri. He was originally only going to take friday but his boss made him take the thursday off also which I was very happy about. His boss is a good friend of ours so he told to take the day and relax.
