Their is no shame in DB. =) Most other salons you are paying for the mark up of the designer and the rent of the salon..You do find wonderful quality at salons but DB dresses are beautiful.
My dress is by Oleg Cassini and it is breathtaking. My entire family thinks its a 3,000 dollar dress but I paid only $950..shhhh!!!


I tried on the dress in the picture, it is very pretty.

I got mine there and adore it. I was following it online for almost a year and then my mom happened to pick it up for me to try on when we went there. I didn't notice it was the same one until I had it on - I almost fainted I was so elated that it looked just as I wanted it to

My DB consultant was amazing, so i think that having the right consultant aids the process.

I just ordered my dress from DB in Lake Grove- I am paying for the whole wedding along with FH so money is an issue for me- my buget was 1200- I figured if I didnt find something I loved at DB I would go to another salon. I tried on about 14 dresses and found one I really loved, I had a great bridal consultant and the place was empty. I was afraid it would be packed- my appointment was at 6pm and by 8pm I was out the door. My dress will be in no later than 12/28.
For me I had no stigma with using DB but I do get what your saying, my dress is beuatiful and I really don't think anyone could tell it wasn't a fortune.
My advice- make an apt try and go at night during the week if you can it was a great experience.

DB was amazing for me. two weeks before my wedding my 'real' dress came to my moms house shipped from the designer and the entire thing was wrong. DB was amazing and not only got me a dress i loved, had it shipped from a store down south and didnt make me deal with alterations, when my dress came to my moms house i went and they altered it for me, no appointment necessary because they felt bad about what happened to me. honestly, now i feel guilty i didnt look there first.

Honestly, it kind of gets me steamed the way some brides look down on DB.

I got my dress from DB, and I don't think anyone would be able to tell the difference between my dress and a more expensive designer gown. In my experience the consultants there have always been very friendly and helpful, and while I've heard some negative things about their alterations dept I don't have any complaints.
