that's sooo not nice of your friend to say. i think diy favors are adorable and they come from the heart...i would think ppl would appreciate them a lot more AND they are a cute idea! no one really pays much attn to favors anyway

i just read the post of what your friend said to you. that is BS. i think it's SOOOO cute that you are making these. forget money, people will appreciate the time and effort and personal touch you put into these. i am making my favors too and i am soooo excited about it. and i told my friends and they told me they LOVE the idea that it will be different, and something people can use.

it's a great idea, and i think everyone at your wedding will love it.

i'm gonna be there w fh...i think i'm the only one who will be there w their man. too bad, i feel like it would be more fun w my moh or bms...but he really wanted to come.

oh well, he'll just have to come w me at 8 to the stage and meet everyone too.

I wanted to do the same thing. First I though of buying little terracotta pots, painting them pretty, and planting tulip bulbs in them. but tulips wont grow in that small of a pot....idea crushed....then I saw the paper ones like you found...got really excited, but they are like $2 a piece and I didn't want to spend that much on favors. Your idea is great! I never thought of doing them myself!!! Please FM me when they start to grow! That way I can make them too! Oh I think I'm almost as excited as you are right now!

lol if it works (it should) ill let ya know they prob wont sprout for about a week or so. and ill send you teh web page on how to make it. its really not that messy and i bought all the stuff to do it at the dollar store!

also just to let you know.....you can cut them into different shapes if you want. the ones I found online were heart shaped. it just gives it that extra little bit of character
