It's my second marriage; my son will be walking me down the aisle.

My father has been in the hospital for the past 5 months. He will not get well and he will more than likely not be living when I get married. I think about it every day and I cry everyday when I do. In the Jewish faith, BOTH parents are to walk the bride down. I will have my mother there but I think I would like my brother to be on the other side of me. He is the only person i could imagine who could properly represent my family, my father and what he means to me.

My Dad is disabled and walks very slowly and cautiously. As much as he wants to walk me down the aisle it is really a hazard with my dress and cathedral length veil.

I've always pictured myself walking down the aisle alone. Personally, I want to make the statement that I am not being given away, I am joining my life to my FH's on my own. JMHO.

If your dad wants to be invloved maybe you can have your dad stand when you get to the front & kiss him & and lift your veil (if you are doing that) before you join DH.

MY mom she has been everything to me and she was so proud to do it!

Both my parents have passed so at my wedding my sister and BIL walked me down.

I will most likely walk alone. Dad is not an option. I think mom wants to do it, but I think I would prefer to walk alone., I've been on my own for so long.

My step-father... I think I want both of them to walk me anyways though...

My friend is having her brother (her dad is alive, and will be at the wedding, but she feels her brother should give her away since her dad has only been half in the picture since she was 11)...

I felt the exact same way and it was fine. My father was not at my wedding and I walked down alone. I wanted my mom to just be 'mom' that day and she understood and it worked out well.
