Since I work for a State University, only the Governor can make the deicsion to close the SUNY's, he hasn't closed them this winter yet. They'll cancel classes but then the College is still open for business, so the way I see it is if the weather is unsafe for our students to travel in then it is equally as unsafe for the employees and I won't go (but have to use a vacation day).

I have to at least try.

We have a number to call to see if the office is closed.. but we doubt it.

My boss lives in Huntington.. I live in Hempstead.. and normally take the Mineola Train.. which means I'm ON HER LINE. If she makes it in and I don't even try.. it looks bad.

But I do have two rolled over vacation days left. I just hate using them to sit at home locked up or shoveling. I'd rather be at work. My job is the type where stuff doesn't stop for holidays and weather.. so if I don't come in..it just sits there for the next day and piles up.

So Im expecting to be in the office tomorrow.

Yes, my company doesn't close unless the building has been ripped away in a tornado or something similiar to that!

Sounds familiar! I will be going in to unless the trains are not running..

I'll still have to work, but I can do it from home....I just have to remember to bring my laptop home with me tonite!

The crappiest thing about being a nurse is that you have to go in no matter if it is a blizzard or not-supervision is the strictest about call-ins during snowstorms. They will send someone out with a truck if you are unable to make it in

Well.. *I* Personally thank you for making the effort to go in.

Seems to me the Worst time for health issues for my family and I are ALWAYS during the WORST time to try to get to a hospital. We have sat in ER rooms thinking 'I wish more doctors would have at least TRIED to come in.. if I could make it here in this weather, stressing out and bleeding, can't they be here too?'

So to all doctors and nurses who make it in..
