depends on situation. my firm is open 24/7 and yes the lawyers do go in. they did for every other snow storm. but if metro north and buses not running. i'm staying put.

So you're a fellow MetroNorth commuter, huh? The trains have been horrendous these past few weeks as it is.. And even though my firm will be open (lawfirms .. never close!) I'm not sure I can deal with another attempt at trying to get a train by Wednesday! I might just take a personal day, the heck with it

I wouldn't go to work with the snow since I commute from NJ to NYC BUTTTT.... I have an event for a professional organization that I'm in that night. I'm helping put it together so I have to be there! Grrrr! It will probably be only ME there anyway!!

I am seriously hoping for a lot of snow, because I am trying my hardest to not come in. During the last storm the big boss kept scoping the place out looking for people who did not come in. And I would hate for him to have me in mind when he thinks of absentee-ism, considering that while on my HM I’ll be gone for over 2 weeks!

Its true... if its gonna snow, let there be a BLIZZARD so there is no reason to have to make any attempt to come in! When is snows 'just enough' to make life miserable, but you have no excuse to call in sick.. well that's the worst. Its almost better to get snowed in altogether.

What REALLY burns me the most is that I make every effort to come in when the weather stinks, but half the other legal assistants won't show up.. and then I'm left 'covering' for 10 attorneys. And its not like anyone even says 'thank you' for your efforts.

OK I'm off my soapbox. SORRY , its been a looooooong winter

Our office is never closed. And I live only 5 minutes away. But if there's a foot of snow, then I'm taking a vacation day!

I did have a meeting on Wednesday in Brooklyn, but they had to cancel! - yeah!

The crappiest thing about being a nurse is that you have to go in no matter if it is a blizzard or not-supervision is the strictest about call-ins during snowstorms. They will send someone out with a truck if you are unable to make it in

I work in a public school in brooklyn. they rarely close the city schools, unlike the catholic schools that close all the time. So i hope we get a blizzard!!!!

I'm also a city teacher so I'm going to work unless the schools are closed, which I highly doubt. But if the schools do close, it would be a disaster for our school, and most other high schools, because it's Regents Week and there is a big Regents exam on Wed. for seniors.

Yes, my company doesn't close unless the building has been ripped away in a tornado or something similiar to that!

Just to give you an idea, the year that we got 7 feet of snow in like a 2 day period, my job was still open and expected people to come in.
