in this guy's story, he says a man invited him...not his mom....shady.

I noticed this too!
I have to agree with Rachel only b/c if it was my wedding I would have kicked someones rumpuss without any hesitation ESPECIALLY if I paid for it! There really is no excuse for letting it go on!

probably the Mom's fiancee invited him...

Re: If you think you have MIL issues....

Man I thought I have heard it all... THATS JUST CRAZY. But I think I would have thrown MIL and the rest of the group out via hotel security. I feel so bad for that couple.

Re: If you think you have MIL issues....

The Four Seasons was first willing to hold up dinner service for this fiasco....then burns it....then cooks another....then another - no extra charge? Seems a bit weird!

Holy shite I just read the rest. Good for that bride for living the rest of her life well and good for her for writing off that nasty MIL.

Re: If you think you have MIL issues....

When i started reading this post i was like OMG thank goodness i am not the only one out there with a FMIL like that.....Mine would not have the $$ to do something like that but i am planing on her doing somthing like, wearing jeans and a tee shirt to the wedding, like she told me was going to! at first i thougt hahah ur kidding...but she was dead serious so i told her if she did i would not talk to her ever again! but i used other words! FH stands up to her but she ***** him back in.....and when i say sh*t to her she says 'ok i am not your client...don't use those big social work words on me' i have learned to ignore her......and i don't go out of my way to be nice but i am not rude i am respectful.....but that is getting harder and harder these days.

Re: If you think you have MIL issues....

OMG, I was riveted by this story.

Although many of you said you would have had them removed, I can kind of understand why she thought, 'ok, let it go and it'll be over soon...' kind of thing. After an hour or so, then I'd be livid, but even though I have a strong personality, I think I may have tried to do what she did...handle it gracefully and then try to go on...

Wow, it gives you so much perspective.

Re: If you think you have MIL issues....

Call me naive, but I believe this to be true.....there are people out there (my father's mother included) who are psycho enough to do this. However, my father would have killed her himself. The groom in this case may not be strong enough to stand up to her, and the bride may have been trying to be the stronger person between her and her FMIL. My heart goes out to them for the fiasco that was caused. I personally would have been hysterical crying in the bridal suite the entire night if that were me.
