Re: Is 50% normal for photo deposit?

That seems reasonable. Who's the photographer?

Re: Is 50% normal for photo deposit?

I only had to put down $1000 for photo and video. Seems a bit high to me.

Same here... I wouldnt worry about 1/2 as the deposit. But I dont understand why you have to pay the rest of it before you get the proofs?

Re: Is 50% normal for photo deposit?

I just put $500 down... about 10%. That seems like a lot. Did you do it yet? I would put less...

Remember... there are a LOT of photographers out there... they want YOUR business. You have the bargaining power to put less.

We put down $300 to hold the date. The rest $2000+ is due near the wedding date.

nope - we did 1/3 then 1/3 due a month before, and 1/3 due that day. Every place we looked at told us $1000 deposit - I have never heard of 1/2.

Same thing

Re: Is 50% normal for photo deposit?

Our photographer and videographer is $550 deposit, then 1/2 due on the day of the wedding, and then the final balance due when we go to pick up our albums, pictures, and video.

Re: Is 50% normal for photo deposit?

My photographer is Bright Pictures. I have the 50% so it's not that big of an issue, but I'm a bit unsure about paying the second half the day of. I think I should be able to hold back some money until we get the proofs.
