I'm planning on 'splurging' a little more than I normally would bc it's our honeymoon. It's a special trip!

Re: IS your honeymoon supposed to be the 'trip of a lifetime'?
We travel a lot also, so I don't think it will be a trip of a lifetime...I just feel that this one time is where we are going go all out on a luxurious EVERYTHING and basically not worry about money. I feel like all our other vacations we stay at nice places and do all we wanna do but we still try to get 'good deals....'

Re: IS your honeymoon supposed to be the 'trip of a lifetime'?
It depends on what you mean. YOu do what you can and you make it want you want. See, we are not big fliers, so the hawaii and bora bora thing was out of the question. but we chose Anguilla and we are doing it really nice. we are definately spending much more on our HM than we would on a 'regular' vacation. We see it as, let'sdo it now why we can, especially since it is our HM, b/c you never know what life has in store for you. We are going for a suite andHM package and all. BUT we do hope tobe able to do it again someday...but if we cannot for whatever reasons, at least we know we did it on ourHM. DO WHAT MAKES YOU 2 HAPPY!!!!

Re: IS your honeymoon supposed to be the 'trip of a lifetime'?
We wanted this trip to be someplace that we wouldnt go again...or spend all this money for....We wanted someplace that we could both relax, and do things at...We felt Hawaii is the place for us...and 2 weeks is enough for relaxing...

for us, yes...we are spending a lot of money for a 9-day trip, but we have such hectic schedules, we hardly ever go on vacation, so we are splurging for our hm.

This is a burning question for me....I have no answer at this point. Im torn between doing what is reasonable, or going for the extravagent.I'm going to have to sleep on it...for a while

Re: IS your honeymoon supposed to be the 'trip of a lifetime'?
since we are going somewhere we've already been to together, i'd say no. but i wouldn't want it any other way. i'm not in for the beach and rock climbing and all that jazz, just fun stuff, thats all we want

Re: IS your honeymoon supposed to be the 'trip of a lifetime'?
Not the trip of a lifetime in terms of experience or travel since we went to Mexico. But definitely the trip of a lifetime in terms of romance and relaxation. We wanted to splurge and be pampered. Go somewhere where sight seeing was not necessary and eating great meals, having great drinks and laying on a beach all day was all we had to do. We did that and could not have asked for more...it was perfect after all the months of stressing over planning.
We realize that we won't be able to do that onoce we have kids (we went to an adults only resort), so being together, alone was a dream come true.

Re: IS your honeymoon supposed to be the 'trip of a lifetime'?
We are hoping it is. One of the reasons we picked French Polynesia is because we don't know when we'll be able to take off as much time from work and go far away again. We felt like we could go to the carribean/mexico or even Europe for other vacations in our life. But your HM is was you make of it. You could have the best time of your life anywhere with your new husband!

Re: IS your honeymoon supposed to be the 'trip of a lifetime'?
It's definitely the 'experience' of a lifetime, but I wouldn't say it was our trip of a lifetime. We're going to Venice next month

Re: IS your honeymoon supposed to be the 'trip of a lifetime'?
We are planning our honeymoon as the trip of a lifetime. I've done plenty of traveling, but FH has not. We're taking the opportunity to spurlge and go some place exotic now - I just can't imagine, other than in our retirement years, another time we'll have the money (not that we have much now) or time to go some place like Fiji. Knowing that no matter where you go on your honeymoon will be extraordinarily special, I did debate doing something more reasonable and closer - but I know us, we'd book something affordable and say we'd go on a big trip in 5 years and life will be hectic by then with kids and no $$ and we'll never end up doing it. Even once we picked Fiji, we debated if we should go for a 'regular' room or the honeymoon villa and decided we deserve the upgrade.

Re: IS your honeymoon supposed to be the 'trip of a lifetime'?
no, I don't think so.Though Hawaii WAS amazing!!!! We plan on going to Italy for 2 weeks on a road trip for our one year anniversary. I guess we plan on a whole bunch of 'trips of a lifetime' before having kids!

Re: IS your honeymoon supposed to be the 'trip of a lifetime'?
We're going to someplace that's secluded where no one can bother us. No tv, phones etc. I don't know if it will be a trip of a lifetime, but I have never been to the carribean before, so it'll be cool.
