Does anyone have their florist & photographer yet? I feel that I'm being overpriced because of the '4th of July weekend'

Did anyone comment in a negative way about a Monday wedding? I have had a few comments from people I wouldn't think of.

Re: July 3, 2006 Brides
Hi! I agree with you all I love our date too. After FI and I became engaged he would not let me plan anything until I finished my student teaching and masters program this past may. So I think I am behind everyone in the planning. So far .......
The hall is booked
We have a band
I blocked rooms at the hotel ( I did that quickly b/c of the holiday weekend!)
The church
My dress
Right now we are stuck in a photographer search that doesn't seem to be ending any time soon.
I was happy to see this thread b/c their seem to be a lot of 7/3/06 brides!

Some people had made comments to me (negative), but you have to think that people are going to make comments b/c they don't think before they speak!
Actually my great Aunt said something to my cousin ( after she made a neg comment about a Monday wedding) that made me laugh.
My Aunt said Christine is very posh, only common people get married on the weekends, the aristocrats and other high society people get married during the week when everyone else is working.
This made me laugh b/c my family and FI's family are the farthest thing from 'high society or aristocrats'. (My FI and I are paying for the wedding ourselves) Also because it shut my cousin right up! Lol
I guess what I am trying to say is that everyone's wedding is different and you should be proud of what sets your day apart from the rest!

Re: July 3, 2006 Brides
When people mention 'You're getting married on a Monday'? I find myself saying the same thing, well we have the weekend and everyone has off the next day, blah, blah, blah.I should say, yes, if it interferes with your schedule, then don't come!!!

Re: July 3, 2006 Brides
I actually said that to my aunt. She made such a big deal about a Monday wedding so I told her if she feels that way do not come to the wedding. do people really think that Brides to be want to hear this?

Who cares what day of the week, most people will have off that Monday anyway.

Re: July 3, 2006 Brides
It's true if people really want to come they will make an effort...no matter where or the day or the time. I think we are smart to have picked this date
I have always loved Fourth of July and now it will be even more special to me.

I'm happy to see that our thread is back and kicking
I booked my photographer yesterday. One more thing out of the way! The only two big things I have left are the florist and hair stylist.
