My sister (and MOH!) is getting married on July 3rd at Crest Hollow. She has her dj and priest so far.

for hair and makeup we (BP, mom, aunt, FG and me) are going to salon blue on Jericho tpke in Mineola. I was nervous about this, becuase I didn't know how the salons would feel about opening on a monday, but they didn't have a problem.

I'm getting quotes for 150, hair alone. Is it me, or is that way too much???

I haven't gotten any quotes yet, but that seems about right...everything is more expensive for the bride!

The only things I have done are:My dress :) It came in earlier than expected. In came in two weeks :) I have the crinoline and shoes. Need to get the veil and tiara.

Bridesmaid dress.
Still don't have the other big ones, Dj, flowers, photographer and videographer. It will be taken care of before the end of August. Any recommendations?

Yeah, add me to the mix! I know Crescent bride already, I am a Monday girl as well. I didn't want to get married on the 4th, and not a Sunday, FI thought of the date, and it clicked. We haven't gotten any price breaks, photographers and bands still are performing the same service, I don't think they were looking to take much off!I just bought my dress today, an oleg cassini! I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dress came in today. I think I should have waited. I can't wait to put it on. It feels like forever till the big day.

I'm scared my dress might turn yellow being that the wedding is a year away. What steps are you taking to make sure it doesn't turn yellow?

I bought the dress bag that they recommend, but I'm not getting it in until around Nov. they are ordering it.

I ordered my dress, but it won't be in until nov/dec.keep your dress out of the sun and in a dress bag. if you are really worried about it, call the store you used. i am sure it will be fine.

I agree. We had so many issues planning our wedding date. We wanted a Saturday night wedding but being that we are getting married in a temple and we wanted summer, the religious holidays were not helping. We didn't want to get married after nine o'clock at night and have our guest eat dinner after midnight. Then we thought of Sunday but then we really wanted our guests to have off the next day. Then we decided holiday weekend. We love the date!!!! We love that the next day is the holiday.

That is alot. I have been a bridesmaid eleven times and we never pd that much. The most we paid was $65 for an up do. Call your normal hair salon.
