I don't wear make up really. Just some shadow and mascara. When I had my makeup trial my DH wasn't crazy about it. He thought I looked to made up. Plus I had lipstick on which I never wear.

Anyway the moral of the story is he will love it on your wedding day! When you are in your dress, hair, etc... it all comes together and you will look beautiful. I know mine did!! So if you like then stick with it.

ETA: Men know nothing about make up anyway!

Don't worry my FH said the same thing....it hurt my feelings a little but honestly you need to have more makeup on then you think for your pictures....i mean if it caked out that is antoher story but it should be more than you wear. My FH hated ALL my makeup trials but honestly if you want go on another one & see what happens or if you really like that woman that did this trial maybe you can go back to her for another trial, but definitely post pictures & we can help.

ugh!

they just don't get it - I tried to explain the fact that my makeup on the big day has to be heavier so I look better in pics, etc. also, the place where I am getting married is dark, and I am pale, so I definitely need more makeup! anyway...I'll figure something out.

Also, having your dress on & hair doen makes a big differnce. If you were all donr up with no makeup, you'd look unfisnshed. Onteh other hand, if you hade weddignmake up on & were in sweats, you'd look silly.

Maybe you do need to go a little lighter, but your FH will love it when his sees the whole look pulled together.

I totally agree w/above statements. Guys just don't really get make-up. I'm sure you'll look gorgeous the day of - esp. when everything comes togeter (dress, hair, etc.)


Another totally random q. regarding the comment made about MAC - is i true that they only charge $40 for having one of their artists do your makeup?
Can someone confirm that for me? I'm a huge MAC fan and use most of their make up but thought it would they would be too expensive to hire. (FYI, I have 7 BMs) can anyone pass on details if they've used MAC make up artists?

I just setup another trial for next week with a girl that works at the Bobbi Brown counter at Bloomingdales....it will be good, that way both FH and I can see a different look, AND it's free! :)

I did a trial with MAC and had to buy 5 products. I think each artist charges different rates. The one I spoke with wanted $160 for me and $80 for my BM. It seemed high to me, but she would've had to take a day off from work, so I guess she was trying to makeup for that.

My FH likes me with minimal makeup also. He proably reacted that way because he's not used to you looking like that. It's almost the same as him showing up with different facial hair. Would you like it if he showed up with a beard and mustache (assuming he doesn't have one). Don't be hard on yourself, you probably looked fantastic, but guys can be weird about stuff like that.
