Lake George Bachelorette Camping Trip

Hi ladies,

We're going camping for 2 nights at Lake George for my bachelorette - any suggestions for bars/restaurants?

Or trails, boat rental places, etc.? I've never been there before...

TIA

Re: Lake George Bachelorette Camping Trip

I LOVE Lake George! I spent all my summers growing up in that area! Definitely rent kayaks and kayak on the lake!! It's a lot of fun and a great work out! We rented kayaks from Lake George Kayak Company

You start off in Bolton Landing which is a pretty little town just north of Lake George Village and you can kayak around The Sagamore. What a gorgeous view!

What a fun idea for a bachelorette party!! I would recommend you camp a state campground or KOA.... some of the locally owned campgrounds are not so great. STAY AWAY from the Mohawk Campground. We camped there last year and it was the worst I've ever camped at. EVER.

Thanks! Kayaking is definitely something I want to do. We're camping at the NYS owned Battleground Campsite.

Re: Lake George Bachelorette Camping Trip

I'm getting married on Lake George!!! I actually live about 45 minutes south of there in Saratoga County

There are bars all down the main strip, my favorite is the Irish pub on the north end (I'm a low-key kinda girl ) There are also tons of great bars that run from very casual to very classy about 20 min south in Saratoga Springs.

As for trails - there is Prospect mountain on the south end of the village - it's an easy climb wth great views. Here is a website with trail info Lake George Hiking

You can take cruises with the Lake George Steamboat company or Shoreline cruises -although they are the ones that had the accident last fall when a bunch of eldery people drowned

There is also a company that does parasailing on the lake.

Have fun!!!

Try Becky's Boat Rental. I love Lake George, we go there camping every year on one of the island camp sites, I believe it's called 'Long Island' believe it or not...lol

Have fun!!!
