Well if it means anything to you, if the Yanks were out of it, I would want the mets to win. I cannot 'hate' a NY team..just don't jive with me...although others may feel diff't.

I'm with you, Bella Bella... that's why the 2000 Series was my ultimate baseball moment! It's all about NEW YORK in the end!!!! (My Phillies fan FH disagrees, sadly...)

That's what FH says too. I like the Phillies but they were really frustrating to watch last year, because the bullpen was SO AWFUL. But they made some huge moves -- good for them!

Plus I really like Jim Thome. He just seems like a nice guy.

I'm gonna respectfully disagree. If I wanted, I can go to a Met game wearing another team's jersey.. and not be harassed.

Go to Yankee stadium with a Piazza jersey on.. and you will hear loads of crap.. and if you are suicidal.. go out and try to sit in the bleachers.. you'll leave or need the cops to bail you out by the second inning. Scary.



This is why I refuse to go to Yankee Stadium to see the Mets play the Yanks. Not to say that the Met fans are better, but I have seen people who have gone to the stadium to support the opposition unmercifully tormented, with no regards to children or women nearby. It was disgusting. And it's mainly these no-class bleacher creatures who have nothing better to do than to sit home and think up dumb chants.



I went to a Mets-Yankee game at Shea.. that was OK. No prob there. Sat right next to a guy in a Winfiled jersey. Die-hard and I could respect the guy for that.

My friend went to see the Mets play the Yanks at the Stadium (and he's a bouncer!) and a Met fan.. and he said he wouldn't say anything because there were just too many crazies.

And like you said.. over the top with no respect to any one with kids, etc.

fyi - these 'fans' are also found at Shea stadium during the subway series games. If you are at the games then you would know. I know, cuz I am there. They are no worse than the yankee fans...
And to comment on the bleacher creatures...maybe no-class, but true fans. Some things I don't agree with how they act, especially since they are the reason for it becoming a non-alcohol section.

I never said that there were no crazies at Shea -- I can be one of them at times and I've seen fights break out too started by the Met fans. When that whole John Rocker thing happened a few years back, people were throwing batteries, bottles, anything you can imagine and insulting the guy's girlfriend. That wasn't right

My whole thing is that if the Mets are playing the Yankees, you should be allowed to support your team by wearning your cap and jersey no matter what stadium you're in. But when the Yankees are playing the Blue Jays and you show up in a Met or Boston jersey, that to me is a bit obnoxious, or if the Mets are playing the Expos and you show up wearing a Yankee jersey.
