Mark.

First I want to get one thing straight! NO-ONE on this site has questioned or put down your work. I've seen your work and think it's pretty good. The tipping conversation has nothing to do with your work as a vendor. Brides on this site, including myself were upset with the comments/advice you gave on #1 - You might want to tip before hand, and #2 - If you want a better job, you may want to tip more. This has absolutely nothing to do with your reputation. Your own choice of words on this site is your doing and we all have to take the feed-back we get all the same. I have to get blasted just as much as you for answers people don't like. You just did it again (a hint in your message under Gratuities) after all of this BS, you state (you could give more if the guy goes out of his way) Sorry, but anyone we hire should do a great job and go out of their way because they love their work and want to the best job. I'm sure people on here would agree with that; some not. I think this subject is a dead horse. You have to expect the feed-back you are going to get as I do too on my comments. Rachel - I'm not on this site to attain a "FAN CLUB" as you state. I'm here to help other brides/grooms, give input where I can and get advice from others. You may be here to gain a fan club, but don't speak for me. There are many brides on here that feel as I do. Let's not discuss this subject anymore. If a person asks about tipping, maybe the comments of tipping before hand or giving more for a better job should be left out of the text. We are grown-ups if we want to tip more we will, but a vendor giving that advice comes off very different than a bride or groom saying so. You are saying what YOU WANT as a vendor, not what that person may be able to give. When a bride/groom asks about tipping and a vendor gives those comments, that bride/groom may think that this is etiquette when in fact it is not.

I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. I truly don't understand all this hostility and resentment. You obviously don't know me, yet feel ok in forming these judgements. All I've done is answer people's questions, try to give advice, and defend myself against people who seem to be quite angry about something. I don't quite get it.

The Final Last Word (R.I.P.)

Asked and answered. I'm not going to repeat myself again. (Whew!) I stand by my postings. I think they are clear + if anyone misreads what I say, than please communicate privately. My last posting answering a question about gratuities is within the bounds of my responsibilities as a vendor and the owner of a business. It is not meant to provoke, only educate.

Nuff said.

Last word? Peace.

RIP Myself

We just have a difference of opinion and let's leave it at that. Good Luck to you.

We touched on the rodents thing before. It was a rumor that was started.(Read on to Jerry Scottos posting) The Fox Hollow is a fine place. As far as Cathy goes she needs to update herself on catering halls. The Chateau needs an uplift!

Thank Dawn - Obviously not a bridal site

Thank you Dawn.

For those of you who supported my opinion and feel Mark is wrong... thank you, but as somone mentioned on this site... There is a big click going on here and I don't feel that I can give an opinion anymore without being trashed and shredded to pieces. Therefore, I'm signing off for a while. Our weddings are tough enough without all of this bickering. I get blasted for defending myself and these other brides keep piping in telling me to shut up. If it were there topic or something they felt, I'm sure if would be different. This site obviously belongs to Mr. Mark and his opinions. It's not for me. Thank you to everyone who supported me.

You are getting ripped to pieces because you can't leave things alone Kate. State your opinion and move on! You go back and forth making it hell on our mailboxes and it's annoying. We don't doubt you're a nice person but if we are all agreeing with each other on this subject something has got to give.

As for the Limo, my gratuity is included in the total fee (for the ride after church) and we are not tipping the driver in excess of that amount. As for the ride after the reception and the next day to the airport I was asked to tip the driver between $30-$50. It is my understanding that this is done because the company makes no money for the use of the Limo and the driver does not get a salary (he is living on tips alone). So he would be driving us and not getting paid for the time.

Kate

Your last post said it all, it's not that we don't want to hear your opinion. You have given alot of valuable input on alot of subjects. But we all have to be honest, we all get off on this bickering thing or else we just would not reply!! So, if it really is the last word on that subject we understand you are defensive. But, you need to move on.

Not meant to offend, just don't think you should leave the group!

June
