MOB dresses Stores needed

HELP. My mom is having a really hard time finding a dress. She does not want anything frompy. Some of the typical MOB dresses are ugly. Any suggestions of stores for her to look at. It was easier for me to get my dress. Thank you for your help!!!!!

WHat time of year was your quote for? I'm having my reception on New Year's Day and I was originally quoted a price of $110 and they changed it to $65 for the exact same menu.

It is important that you be completely comfortable with your decision. If you're not - go elsewhere. There are plenty of other people out there who will cater to your needs. You shouldn't have to 'push' for anything...

Bridal Suite in Patchouge had some very nice non-typical dresses. My mom got a straight black beaded gown that is absolutly gorgeous (not the tacky matronly sequined deal either). There is another store across the street that has some unique stuff as well.

Ive also seen ads in Bridal magazines for a store called Sophisticated Lady that saiys that not-typical MOB dresses are their specialty, but have never actually been there and dont know location. You can probably find them in the phone book.

Estelles is another suggestion, although they are hit-and miss.

my mother just got her dress at sophisticated lady in patchogue - that is right across the street from bridal suite in patchogue. they had beautiful dresses - many non-typical dresses to choose from, and they are very nice and helpful.

Try En Toto in Nassau. They are pricey, but have beautiful dresses.

Thanks guys for the additional positive feedback. It definetly can make you nervous when you're paying all this money for basically the food, service, and location. And to hear one bad comment, it can make you unsure. All I know is that I have complete trust in The Jericho Terrace for our wedding and to all future brides, definetly check it out. You really get alot for your money!

Also Jeannine, we wanted a June 2001 wedding (the place looks amazing in the summer w/ all the flowers,) but the day and room we wanted was booked, so we changed to May. If the tasting is holding you back, I would definetly go taste ASAP, b/c there are only 10 weekend days in June, and when we went to sign the contract in January, they were already pretty booked. Anyway, this woman did my hair and it was 'so so' - I wasn't very impressed. I want my hair natural and loose (its very think and wavy - she blew it straight and then curled it. Makeup? She had none to use on me and told me to go buy my own and come back!

And I took off from work for this!

My mom got a really nice 2 pc dress with a jacket from Bridal Reflections in Carle Palce. They have trunk shows for MOB's. I think my moms dress is a Rose Taft. Good Luck. It is amazing that is is harder to find a mob dress than your own!! Good Luck!

I got my shoes at Verones (close to that) on Main Street in Sayville. They have a huge selection of shoes. I got a very compy pair for $55. It is called the "Cindy" and is apprently the most popular bridal shoe. They were very helpful (the owners not the shoes!)
